Then you dont have a preference in doneness? Because toppings dont have anything to do with how cooked it is

i never had anything other than well done, what is it with the undercooked steaks? are they good? do you not get sick from it? i'm just really ignorant on it

you don't! as long as it reaches a general temperature that kills the bacteria you can eat your steak rare. :>

A lot of people consider the 'medium rare' doneness of steak to be the "perfect steak". Theyre really good, if you ever get a chance to try a different doneness, I totally recommend you go for the medium rare or rare. You dont get sick from it, but there's a higher possibility of getting sick if it's rare because it might contain some bacteria.

When the inside is pink, the steak is soft and it's still juicy, leaving a savory taste in your mouth while remaining with a perfectly browned exterior. I personally dont like it well-done because it's plainly dry since all the juices from the steak are basically gone. Cooking past medium just seems to ruin the texture and flavor imo.

Anything higher than medium i think, because medium still keeps that pink hue and soft interior and the juices are still there
