At some point, i imagine some words just aren't curse words anymore. Like Damn for example, can be used in moderation along with hell, but most else should be used sparingly. But that's just my opinion.

Swearing means you're stupid and have a limited lexicon.
Swearing isn't necessary. Ever. Even accidentally or quoting someone.

Intentions matter. If you only use it to underline an opinion that isn't personally aimed or criticizing another person, I really don't see the harm.

There is a huge different in using the words in sentences like "I fucking love chocolate!" or "Fuck you, you cunt".
If you take offence because the chocolate lover uses a strong word, you're the sensitive one and need to grow more skin (generally a good thing to have in this world - not everyone will or should wrap you in bobblewrap your whole life). Using cussing to offend others however, is an entirely different matter. But it isn't so much because of the cussing as it is about trying to offend. Because it isn't impossible to have a bad attitude towards others without swearing.

The word is not the problem, the attitude and the intention is.

Well, cussing someone out has the same effect as insulting people with things other than cusses, like calling them ugly, or worse.

I disagree that some words stop being curse words just because they are used too much. To me damn and hell are cursing and so I don't use them.

joe, nobody's forcing you to use them....and I don't think you're going to change the rules of the game and stop everybody from swearing just by making a poll that only has basically one answer

Damn: I can't really explain but it has been said in many 'kid' shows and movies( I'm not saying just because it was said on a kids show doesn't mean it's bad)and it sounds a bit weird to be a cuss word ( in my opinion)
