There should be some sort of limitation of the other editors. Another thing if at some random point the original poster doesn't want anyone else to edit they should have an option to remove the people they previously added.

It's your responsability to choose to whom you give the right to edit your threads, and if they add it they'll surely add a way to remove the editors!

Yes but for some there may be times when the other editors you gave access to may be petty because of a falling out and edit your posts etc.. so like I said previously
