Should people earn a license to chat or should they be able to talk freely when they create an account?

Anythin a dit :
This is like saying people should have a license to breathe. Without a free chat, Transformice will never be as successful as it is now.

lisatibu a dit :
this isn't animal jam
so no

these two

this is a 13+ game and not club penguin so really leaving us to chat using cheesy polite phrases would just dumb down the demographic

yes there are many cancerous chats but theres also alot of discussions, and questions and interesting talks which would be sad to take away just so the younger demographic can feel safer

I can understand why Animal Jam, Club Penguin etc. have a restricted chat. There are a lot of kids playing, some even under 8, and you don't want them to hear swearing and inappropiate topics. But this is Transformice, a game for 13+. If you're under 13, you're here at your own risk and nobody can be blamed if you hear some cancerous discussions.

Plus, if a topic goes way too far, like homophobic language or spam in the chat, you can always call a mod or ignore the people chatting, and boom, problem solved.

If Transformice's chat became restricted, I'm sure me and many other players would quit, and TFM wouldn't be able to afford such a huge loss in players.

I don't understand what you mean by 'license'. Do I need to take a test in order to chat? Do I have to run around cheese shaped like traffic cones to earn my chatting license?

source

By a liscense I mean, do they need a requirment to use the chat? like a certain level, or a certain time playing. not a test

I'm sure that there's requirements before a player can whisper players. Having that restriction is great, but there should not be a requirement to use room chat. A guest player could make an account to use the chat, and find they couldn't say anything for the first ___ hours/days. Also, if a topic goes too far, you can report the people having the conversation. For those two reasons, I do not support this idea.

People should be able to take comments from a chat dictionary so they can ask questions and still chat some. They should be able to chat freely at a certain level so they can chat with friends and ask more questions. If they say something inappropriate they will be suspended from the chat but will still be able to play.

This is not Animal Jam or Club Penguin either,it's a pg13 game and people should be free to talk without being forced to use certain already chosen words.

Took the words out of my mouth

yes there should be a chat license. the right to speak is a PRIVILEGE. freedom of speech is a false lie fabricated by the government. don't believe me? just look at all the censorship that goes on in society today. even this game is not a place where freedom of speech is allowed. for example, i can't tell the sentinels that they should go fuck themselves with a giant pink dildo because by their rules i will get banned for this post and others. speaking in chat is comparable to driving; it is a privilege not a right and if you cannot be a responsible driver or texter, your rights should be revoked for the safety of others. thanks for listening x

Earning a "Liscence" to speak in the chat is silly and unnecessary.
If you haven't noticed already, players with longer logged
time can type more into the chat bar, however, that does not reduce what they can and can not say.
There is a language filter for a reason, use it.
If you can't handle the "XDDD IM SO RANDOM!!!!" people, then, honestly, just get over it.
Transformice and other Atelier games are for all ages.

There is no way in hell I'd want Transformice to turn into Animal Jam. And this is what you just suggested.

Silly child.
In 1942, the U.S. Supreme Court added "incitement" to the list of things not covered by freedom of speech. "Fighting words" are against the law and not protected. You can't abuse someone verbally, or use words to rile a crowd into doing something illegal. Law enforcement can criminally charge you for your conduct, and you wouldn't be able to claim that you were exercising your constitutional rights.

yeah see this is why there should be a chat license duhhhhhh so that if you do that thing then you get the right to speak taken away permanently

also american laws don't necessarily apply to a FRENCH GAME on the INTERNET lmao
