birdluv a dit : This If Atelier801 kept making events free, they would eventually go bankrupt. If you haven't noticed, these days it's all about going 'pro' and people save up with cheese instead of buying fraises when they can. If people keep doing this, let alone Atelier801 bringing back the original events, they would go completely out of business. So if you can, quit complaining and buy some fraises. Ask for them for a Christmas, or Birthday gift. |

Maybe because saving up cheese to buy the items is a much better idea than spending your Fraises because Fraises are more worth while put towards furs, shaman items and customization. The only people I see spending Fraises on event items is newer players (at the current moment all items excluding furs and shaman items is around 6k~ cheese) and players that can't afford/don't want to spend cheese at the moment. I don't know about you but to me it seems like they're still going bankrupt and losing employees because of it. I don't have the money to put towards Fraises and honestly I wouldn't now with how unstable they are even if it could make or break the company. I don't think it was them giving away free items that caused it either because it's going to be years before they break even with Nekodancer, just as an example. |

Thefourthone a dit : Do you have proof of this? I'd like sources on this rather than a baseless fact. shadowwinter a dit : I'm pretty sure the departure of Loukno, Sydoline and Kura have nothing to do with their money problems at all. Sydoline is closing the distance with her boyfriend, Kura got an artist job and Loukno's already left once so it's not like she's not done it before. Dernière modification le 1416412380000 |

shadowwinter a dit : The 4 administers that (Vanlu, Kura, Sydoline and Loukno) aare just community communicators that help with translations (Except for Loukno who is in charge or Japan expo stuff) . Does not really have an impact in terms of getting work done, those are Mahar, Meli, Tig and Pikashu's work. Reason why they arent getting anywhere? They have too much things/ideas on their hands. Nothing got to do with money or the lost employees. Remember when they said Celousco was gonna be the next thing? well it isnt, because the 3 other games pulled that money goal back. it was a big mistake. Im not saying they are bad, everyone makes mistakes. Is just that with the hardwork they put into the 3 games, i know they are not willing to close them down, some players will be unhappy for sure. ============== Back to the main point, whether it is money related or not, i think it is best for them to experiment more. Maybe for Christmas they did the bingo idea for the majority. |

I don't think you get what exactly CCMs do lol. Remember events are going to be longer now. They might be a bit more intensive. |

Those CCMs still had an impact on what the company did, don't forget that their opinions were accounted for when they did something because they were also apart of the company regardless if they didn't do any coding or artwork. Their impact may not have been as huge but it still exists none the less. I'm not saying they should close down their games, honestly I'd much rather see them updated/fixed but I know they don't have the time and money to do so. I'm really hoping Celousco is still in the making because that honestly seems like it'd be their saving grace; A nice, developed game that they've spent a lot of time on building from the ground and up. Experimenting isn't bad but they should focus on at least becoming financially stable before doing anything more other than the projects they've already invested a lot of time in and Transformice just happens to be the answer. Though I just don't feel it's quite right yet, in my opinion. |

I like the new events, some of them atleast. I dont mind about the items not being free anymore, atleast tfm isn't some thing like Penguin club that you have to pay for everything |

haruhitastic a dit : I meant experimenting as in them making more games rather than focusing on the ones they have, not that they should continue copying and pasting the same events over and over again rather than coming up with something new. What I'm saying is that they should focus on what they have now instead of continuing to make games that could potentially go bad, and try to get it to a point where they're stable enough to handle what they have now and more in the future, with the exception of Celousco which has already had a lot of time put into it. On the contrary they need to focus on resolving issues in these games rather than making new ones, lest they'll never be taken seriously; but in the end this topic is about old events and not new games, last I checked. |

I like the recent events, they're pretty interesting and the badges look good imo. :) I also don't mind not being able to get items for free, as long as there is still a cheese price tag, it's all good! c: |

I feel like a lot of people are judging Atelier without considering what kind of work they have to do as a business. Atelier 801 consists of a fairly small team. I know of sites that pump out 10+ daily announcements to buy the same item in different colors for 20 dollars and up. Atelier gives us pretty decent sales, considering the frequency of furs that are half off. And everything is obtainable by cheese. The point of the game is that you're a mouse, gaining cheese. If you want something you can't buy with fraises, then you're more likely to play/grind in order to save the cheese up. It keeps people interested. If anything, it might be nice to make an event where a FEW items, one or two, are obtainable by an in-event quest or something, but the rest I'm going to have to say no. Atelier needs money to keep going. I don't have the post link on-hand, but Meli said that out of the entire players, a very small percentage, something like 9% or 10%, actually bought fraises. I don't think they're being greedy or unrealistic in their events. They don't have all the resources, funds, and time to be pumping out several updates per week, and a new, shiny event for each holiday. The halloween maps are frustrating, but I guess it still gives you a reason to seek them out, as opposed to getting candy constantly and everything being won out in a few days. So, yes. Of COURSE they want money. If everything was free and easy, we wouldn't have this game. Any business needs money to run. |

I thought it was more like 1~2% of players ever actually bought anything with real money from a free to play game, maybe I'm not remembering correctly but it was a really low percentage of players. I like the way A801 does things even though it doesn't really show, it's probably one of the few (possibly only) free to play based companies I've liked since they do try their best to keep the game truly free to play without giving any advantages to paying players. Most free to play games these days are heavily "Freemium" based. An item for solving the enigma they usually release every event would be pretty cool and rewarding since the entire community comes to work together to try and solve it. It would give more reason for players to play and actually help out, let alone bring everyone together to have fun and celebrate in our own unique way unlike other games. I guess you could say I've always liked the older events because there was something special to be had with them and there has been plenty new and interesting things they've come up with like the last fishing event, even though it caused mass trade spam it was rather fun trying to collect all the relics haha. |

thefourthone a dit : Atelier wasnt a company when they were accepting donations, tig and meli were working for another company and transformice was something they collaborated on. When tfm got popular they decided to form their own company, which is why they stopped taking donations for legal reasons. Do you not remember tfm changing a lot around the time fraises were introduced? Like how mods couldnt play music in rooms anymore, baffbot stopped playing music/eventually shut down, etc? Atelier formed as a company and had to make changes for legal matters. So no, donations weren't keeping tfm afloat, they were donations. 2012 was tfm highest point in popularity and that's probably when they were making most bank. Haru is more than likely asking you to cite a source comparing 2012 to now because tfms popularity has sunk since then and Atelier is likely making less money as a result. They are also running 4 games as compared to just transformice before. Dernière modification le 1416647940000 |
