TFM doesn't have age limits and if they will, they will lose alot. You can do /filter and a good idea for café is to post what age it is for. so 8-10, 11-12, 13-15 and 18+ |

This topic COULD be in the suggestions. But i think if a young child ever creates a account with their same age they should have launguage filter locked until the account says that they're 13. Cause if they can't talk they simply get bored of the game and leave. |

As many people already stated, how would Atelier 801 know you're lying about your age? It'd be about impossible. Anyway, I enjoy Transformice, and if it said I couldn't play, I'd go raging. I'm going to quote replies I think are correct. birdluv a dit : Yes. So true <3 However the grammar and other stuff isn't really how mature one is. It's a fraction of it. phanghuang a dit : I already mentioned the last part in my post, but it's all true still. Imjustgood a dit : This so much. sherrwagn a dit : Once again, already mentioned. This is a message from a 10 year old girl. Peace! Dernière modification le 1421455500000 |

On this other thread, someone said that The game is 13+. Although, kids younger than 13 are allowed to play, Only if they have their parent/guardian's permission to play it. I don't know if it's true or not, but seems believable. Also, when I joined it said NOTHING, absolutely NOTHING about being 13+ to play it. Felt like making it colorful... Haha. riannaleo a dit : ^ Yay. It's true C: I asked my mom if I could play this game before making an account... omgitistaken a dit : ^ Same! I ask my mom for everything. to eat anything, to play anything... I'm so cautious with everything.. Dernière modification le 1420170180000 |

katelynrocks a dit : I, sadly, have gotten used to seeing people on Transformice (and the forums) swearing. I think mostly the little kids are the swearers because they think swearing makes them sound older than they are, and they want to think they're older than they are. So they swear. Then they just get themselves into trouble: "YO **** OF YO LITL *** OR I'L BLAHBLAHBLAH!" scytheburns a dit : I'm 11 (soon twelve) and I handle it as if they didn't say the swear word at all and see what the other words say. But, if the person's insulting, I just say "Please cool it. What did anyone here do to you?" Really, we don't need Transformice to ask your age. Also, making me (and 14 unders) unable to chat... That would be horrible!!! I'm thinking 12 and below. |

can i just say this- 1. tfm is rated pg13, meaning you should expect people to cuss. 2. since this game is rated pg13, you should've asked your parents for permission before you registered. 3. if you've made an account, you're basically saying you can handle the cussing and what people say. 4. people will learn cuss words whether they play tfm or not. i created my account when i was 10. of course, like every other online game i joined, i logged on without my parents' permission. even with being on websites like youtube and deviantart before i even knew tfm existed, i still never knew a single curse word. i learned cuss words thanks to tfm and eventually used them online. i swear, you guys saying kids shouldn't be exposed to it at an early age, they're going to get exposed to it no matter how much we keep them away from learning the words. i'm 13 now, and thanks to the experience of cuss words i've had on tfm, and nowadays dA and youtube, cuss words no longer shock me. same would go for those who are under 13 i imagine. |

how about different servers for different age groups? like maybe 8-10, 10-14, and 15+ That way people 15+ like myself may have enjoyable conversation with more mature players. |

I think its very ignorant to simply generalize players by their age and automatically assume some are more mature than others. I've seen mature 10 year olds who write properly, can take 18+ jokes and play respectfully, the same way I've seen 19 year olds scream 'NOOB' and rage and throw temper tantrums over a mouse game. Honestly, when it comes to the internet, especially an mmo game, maturity is rarely determined by age. I believe its mostly determined by personality, intelligence, and amount of time dedicated to the game. Also, asking users if they are over 13 is useless, a 9 year old is well smart enough to know how to fake his age, especially for a cute mouse game. (Hell, I was already playing online chat mmos at 9) And trying to prevent or separate players of multiple ages to play together is not a sensible solution (plus it adds an ageist view on things) I think a (better) optional chat filter for ANYONE who does not wish to see cussing in a room is fine./skip for music rooms functions well and if not, there are plenty of music rooms to join. /ignore Is also a thing, if a person is acting in a way you dont like, ignoring them shows more maturity than trying to get them away from the game. One thing is for sure, the internet exists and there is nothing to stop children and teens from accessing it. ~A 16 year old |

I think what TFM has is enough. There's a chat filter, for starters. And I don't really think swearing is going to the bane of a child's life; I used to think it was the worst, inappropriate thing ever. It's really not. Honestly, as long as reports go in for pornographic material, we're good to go. I think the only suggestion here is for TFM to stress what kind of material CAN be present while playing in game, such as swearing, sexual innuendos, etc. Some kind of warning that tells them what they may encounter. I agree that kids under 13 should be able to play, but some sort of measure might not be such a bad idea. It's my personal opinion, but I don't think level of maturity gives a child a free pass to explicit sexual content :/. Porn is rated for a reason. Specifically, it skews the view about how the world works and how people should look. And being introduced to this behavior and/or content can really get a kid caught in something bad if they don't understand warning signs of a predator. But, this isn't a problem on TFM, so I digress. In fact, I saw a user got banned pretty quickly after linking to an 18+ site, so as long as material like that stays off the game, a few under 13 users isn't going to hurt anybody. The chat filters are auto-enabled, aren't they? All TFM has to do upon sign up is say, "Hey, this is a 13+ site, so interactions can include swearing. Use chat filters found in your preferences if this bothers you. Peace!" (I'm honestly a little surprised of how young some people here are, but it's easier to be overwhelmed by a number in text than understand what it can really mean. I remember being more or less "mature" with good grammar when I was ten, too.) Tl;Dr - Kids are fine. They can take their own measures if swearing bothers them, or leave a room. A few extra warnings about making sure to ignore any dangerous people might be nice, but I really haven't seen anybody like that on TFM. |

i feel the same way as you guys do, the language that is used in the game is inappropriate and the language filter should be improved Dernière modification le 1423224480000 |

but sometimes the filter doesnt work. Somebody might spell a swear word wrong on purpose and it still appears in the chat |
