I've seen more English role-players on the internet than of any other nationality, but that might be because I speak English too. A lot of people role-play, and have characters and such on and on, bringing something like that to this forum would probably be a lot of effort to maintain and moderate. I can already imagine how many fights would arise over someone not being allowed in a role-play, or not being allowed to post their special character thread about their OC.
It would also detract attention from the other parts of the forums as it might become a thing that people only come here to role-play and not to discuss Transformice or other A801 games. I've been in forums that have introduced a role-play feature, and trust me, it really sucks for people who don't role-play to see all the attention go to those forums. They were also the ones with the most drama too.

A player can easily role-play with the group chat feature in the inbox if cafe is not a suitable platform, they could even use cafe to look for people to join them.

Oh hey this thread is alive and it's still not implemented... well I can see why the progress would be slow.

extraordinary a dit :

I think you have a good point here, but the entire reason why I would want an RP Subforum here is that it provides open, public roleplays that I can pick and choose from and allows other people to join as well. I don't have to limit my RPs to my tribe forum and the tribe members that frequent our tribe forum (of which there are few, sadly). I don't have to limit my RPs to only a few people via inbox and have to constantly post messages asking for more people to join the inbox RP. And this forum has rules, who's to say there won't be rules that people will obey and follow in an RP sub-forum? Who's to say moderators won't moderate it? And like I have previously mentioned, I would prefer to stay in one somewhat familiar community and RP with them rather than shift to another website entirely and introduce myself to a large commmunity of which I know absolutely no one.

And cafe is definitely not as suitable as a real forum. How many times have I been scared to close the cafe, afraid that I might lose the topic entirely? Cafe roleplaying is fast-paced. You have to keep up with the other people who are just as scared as you of losing the topic, of the topic dying. Forum roleplaying is slower-paced and more relaxed. You don't have to urge your interaction partner to post something already. You don't have to worry about your topic suddenly drowning in a pile of new topics forever.
Extraordinary a dit :
It would also detract attention from the other parts of the forums as it might become a thing that people only come here to role-play and not to discuss Transformice or other A801 games.

In the first place I am not a frequent poster on these forums without a roleplay forum. Most of the time I'm on Atelier801 forums solely for my tribe forum. The few topics I am interested in are mainly in the art sub-forum and I rarely join Discussions about the game or even off-topic. I hardly touch anything outside of Off-topic and Transformice. I wouldn't be surprised if this is the same for many other people. And I'm sure there are even more people who only play Atelier801 games and never go onto the forums besides to change their profile picture. An RP Sub-forum would draw more people to the forums, even if it is only the RP sub-forum at first, and it'd be easy to meet and make friends with other players you might not meet in-game or in general.

Even if only original RPs are allowed, I'd be happy, since usually when I'm scrolling through the cafe I really am looking for a unique RP that I can weave my own story into.

Several people who role play on the Café would benefit from this sub-forum. As said in Gujiniuniu's post, Café role playing is too fast paced and there is a huge risk of your topic dying too quickly.
Tribe forums could be used for role playing, but they are not as public as a sub-forum even when non-members of a tribe have the same posting and thread-making rights as a member.

So, imma answer the other topic here.

Caseyanthony a dit :
you missed my point
i was pointing out that each language's subforums are independently moderated so the rules of the brazilian subforums do not apply to the english subforum

The Brazillian forums are only the way they are right now because we, Brazillians, actually asked for stuff. If you stay there, just accepting things the way they are delivered to you, you'll never get nowhere, with no change and etc. If you guys don't have the need to take down the Double-Post rule, well, good for you, because it seems pointless not only for the BR community.

About the RPG sub-forums, it was a Staff choice that the section was created, and this was only brought into discussion for users after being accepted internally by the BR Sentinels.

It's not that the BR subforums don't have the same rules as here, they once had, but we asked for changes. And we received the changes. It's no use considering the Forums Rules as a supreme truth that can't be questioned or anything like that.

Haruhitastic a dit :
the rule exists bc people dont know how to role play without godmodding and sentinels had to tend to petty ass reports lmao
it's not that EN is too strict
it's that people suck lol

I think you guys are strict, yes. We had quite some problems at BR, y'know? Most of our sentinels don't even do their job efficiently (Some don't even "work"), and most of the good ones left some time ago. We have some dirty people there, too (Tribe-killers, Spammers, Massive Shitposters, etc etc), yet there is no actual rule taking them out or taking something out because our sentinels have the "ability" to know it may be 1 or 2 persons, not a entire subforum and such.

We have our RP section, and it took time to teach people to not be OP, to follow the rules, since not everyone was used to Role-Playing, but they still wanted to.

If no one else is willing, I'll make a topic but the few times I have I either rambled or wasn't noticed -sweats-
