So, I hate to keep posting on this topic... but... I don't. Like any family, cafe has its flaws. And like any family, we have disagreements. And like any family, we make up. And like any family, it takes awhile to find your place in it, or to know if it's the one for you. There's a reason we refer to it as 'the cafe family'.
Honestly, I think it's moderated enough already. You don't see people posting blatantly inappropriate things, and trolls are taken care of quite well. There are much fewer trolls now that accounts have to have 400 cheese gathered and 5+ hours. While there are still arguments, they're resolved rather quickly.
I know a lot of people that only play transformice for the cafe (and the people who use it), and I feel that removing it would lower the amount of active and paying accounts.
I feel that it's not exactly a solid argument to compare and contrast to other chats, but I'm making it anyway because I think it needs to be addressed. US chat alone is much more 'toxic' then modern cafe. Trolls can access public chats and room chats much easier than cafe, and people in room chats are also very rude to each other. I've witnessed many room chat arguments simply about a player being a bad shaman that don't end quickly and are painful for the people other people in the room. I just don't see why people have so many issues with cafe when things like room chats, which you can't just close, are much worse.

mods have even stated themselves that they dont moderate cafe as much as they should, even back in 2019 lmao. also there's a lot of cp drama going down right now over at the cafe, and to my knowledge only one of the cp posters have been banned, and it wasnt even for cp it was for having a public account. removing the cafe would make there be less places for mods to check as well.

also the argument that the game is 13+ is trash because that's literally saying that 13-17 year olds aren't children

I don't use the cafe very often when I'm playing
The cafe was implemented back in 2014 (not sure) and it wasn't a good update for some players
In the cafe you can either interact with the others like an instant messenger when you play Transformice

Good side:
Faster than forum
The threads disappear after 5 negative prestige points
Connected: here you can have a conversation with the others
Many people use it

Bad side:
Toxicity of the players: threads not only about political and sexual orientation but hidden gore, pornografic messages or images from links stay in the cafe FOR WEEKS!
Not suitable for CHILDREN!! PLEASE PROTECT CHILDREN'S RIGHTS

I wish they could add cafe filters to censor offensive political and sexual content because it's illegal for some countries, ages, ethnicities and cultures
If cafe were removed many players start chatting on discord (similar to cafe) I think
