1. Years later, she gained fame as a world-class athlete. (world-class = adjective, pre. phrase = later) < not sure on pre.
2.all of her hard work made her strong (hard = adverb, strong = adjective)
3.illnesses like these were often deadly
4.rudolph suffered from polio and scarlet fever when she was four years old. (pre. phrase = from, gosh I'm not sure ^-^ ' )
5.for many years rudolph used a leg brace when she walked (pre. phrase = for)

Sorry, I couldn't get them all.. and I'm not 100% sure on the prepositional phrases.

urg i hate outright giving the answers but i need to correct this.

Adverbs are things that usually reference the time or how something happens, basically describing the action. They can also describe adjectives in this manner as well.

Adjective describes the noun

Prepositional phrases can actually be both as well. They are phrases that if taken out wont change the basic thing of the sentence and I believe always have a preposition at the beginning.

1. 'Years later' is adverbs. 'a world-class' is an adjective. And I'm pretty sure 'as a world class athlete' is an adverb prepositional phrase.

2 'her hard' and 'strong' are both adjectives. There are no adverbs. 'Of her hard work' is an adjective prepositional phrase.

3. 'deadly' is the adjective. 'often' is the adverb (how many times is it deadly?). And I would like to think 'like these' is an adjetive prepositional phrase.

4. 'four years old' is an adjective. 'from polio and scarlet fever' is a adverb prep phrase.

5. 'a leg' is technically an adjective but idk. 'For many years' is an adverb prepositional phrase.

If you don't need to mention what kind of prepositional phrase then don't I guess lol.

Hey, I have a question...
I've been sick, so I missed some school. Monday, my English teacher assigned an essay that's due Thursday/tomorrow. But I missed Wednesday and Tuesday and I haven't been able to work on it and I don't quite understand the topic very much...
So, should I try to write some of the essay tonight with what I /think/ I need to do or should I wait and ask the teacher about it tomorrow instead?

I think if you explain your situation to the teacher you can get an extension if she/he is understanding. Write something atleast though just in case and make sure to bring a doctors note if you have one.

Simply use the identity a² - b² = (a + b)(a - b).
It gives you a very nice answer, (3a + 2b/3)(3a - 2b/3)

find the coordinates of the turning points of the curve and determine their nature:

1) y = x^3 + 6x^2 + 9x - 1
2) y = 4x^3 - 21x^2 + 18x
3) y = x^3 - 3x + 4

also, is there a certain form i should be factorising the differentiated equation into? i've been doing it into (x+a)(x-b) or ax(x+b)

Turning point is simply a point where function's derivative changes its sign. To find it, take the derivative and find its roots (because its value is zero when it changes signs so that's the point you're looking for).

For the first one:
y = x^3 + 6x^2 + 9x + 1
y' = 3x^2 + 12x + 9

3x^2 + 12x + 9 = 0
Δ = 144 - 4*3*9 = 36 √Δ = 6
x1 = (-12 - 6)/6 = -3
x2 = (-12 +6)/6 = -1

Since a in the original function was positive, you can assume it increases from -∞ to -3, decreases from -3 to -1 and increases again from -1 to ∞.

Hi can someone please try to correct the mistakes please? I have to do a presentation on the Geat Depression and it had to last at least 1 minute 30 seconds.

From the young to the old, everyone's lives were affected by the Great Depression. Schools were closed down because of a lack of money and many teenagers left their family to find a life of their own. This was because they were ashamed of their unemployment and poverty. Most children didn't go to school but some children were lucky enough to be in schools where their teacher was payed barely anything to continue education.

Many families were migrant workers and had diseases because of little food and lack of proper shelter. Some people travel in cars and stop by campsites to look for jobs to support their family. If they were able to find a job, which is unlikely, they still won't have enough money to support their families but it's better than nothing. Many people starved and people lost their homes and farms. Farmers were in a hard situation and were losing money. They lost the crops that had supported their families and animals that gave them food.

The Great Depression relates to Where the Red Fern Grows(<---underlined) because the author of the book, Wilson Rawls, lives during the Great Depression. This period is a dark one and it's an important time, it would be remembered in the future.

This is how I would correct it in my eyes~ :

So it'd look like this:

29.00 x 0.30

2) Once you get your answer, subtract it from the original price amount.
It would look like this:

29.00 - (whatever answer you got from multiplying in step 1)

Ta-da! That's your sale price, just add the dollar or cents signs if necessary.

3) To find the total price, multiply the tax (7%) by the sale price.
So it would look like this:

(whatever answer you got for the sale price) x 0.07

Once you solve that, add your answer to the sale price you got from step 2.

I learned this in middle school, it was mark up and selling price and discount and sale price I think.

I believe, Buttercreamm, that you got a different answer because you were supposed to multiply the discount first before you multiply the tax because you only do the tax part when you find the total, in this case, that would be the sale price.
