I thought a way of verifying was copying the user’s translated text, put it in google translate and then translate to english and see if it’s different than the original text. :shrug:

lmao, im pretty sure google translate would butcher the sentences regardless if the person spoke a language fluently or not so i don't think that's a truly reliable way of making sure

If you thought Google Translate works that well, we wouldn't even need a Translators Team. GT can't detect the context of words, it's a bot trying to string together simple words and ends up butchering even a three worded phrase.

I don't see how using an Official Helper from a community who fluently speaks that language is not an assuring way to confirm, seems just fine to me.

You can usually also confirm if a user is fluent in that language if you can see they regularly post in the forums of the community they want to help translate. Posts will be moderated in other communities if Google Translate is used, so seeing a user regularly post without any moderated messages against them is a pretty good way of telling if they are fluent or not.

It would only be unassuring if there were someone on the team already that couldn't speak English properly, since they would have the rights to confirm that others with questionable language fluency are valid.
But then again, I suppose you wouldn't need to be superfluent in a language to be understood/help others understand.

Hello everyone,

It's been a few weeks that you didn't hear anything about us and here we are, back with some changes and announcements.

Since this is a Translators Team, each member should speak at least two languages. That's why we decided that the EN team will only contain Leaders of the other communities but they should master English + (Their native language). And based on this change we decided to open the doors for the following communities :

Indonesian

- Dutch

- Russian

- Chinese

- Filipino

- Lithuanian

- Japanese

- Croatian

- Bulgarian

- Estonian

Czech

And because of this change in the English team, we will have to bid farewell to two members of the team : Ronanresende (BR) and Tunaxxxl (TR), but that does not mean that they left the team but they just became members of their teams (BR & TR) (At the end, we are all one).

On the other hand, we would like to announce the start of the Italian team
