Club Penguin shut down due to Flash becoming outdated and moved their game to mobile devices as an app.
It also lost popularity since most of its players prefer "old cp", or rather Club Penguin 2005-2013. That's why many of us moved to Club Penguin Rewritten (a merge of CP 2008-2010).

As for Animal Jam, it's doing quite well with players buying memberships and diamonds and whatnot.
It does have an app, but it's still not as popular as its original site.
Plus, if you "want animal jam to shut down too," how about avoiding the Animal Jam forums and game itself?

I decided to get membership again so I can bond more with my little sister when we're at different houses, since we don't see eachother that much in person,,

Whenever I have the chance, I usually go to where she is, watching her so I can make sure she doesn't get upset.
She did actually get one of her rare spikes scammed while I was off, she didn't know at all, so I gave her one of my spikes to at least make her feel better.
She has a lot to learn, but ehh,, she'll get there ;D;
