Anythin a dit : Fast pace, short messages? Who are we to report anyway, what kind of people? The messages on the game chat is faster than on the Cafe. We're or at least I am not blaming any mods, never have I said it. We need sector mods in which mods are to have their respective designated area to moderate, but of course are assistants to the other sectors. But this is just a suggestion. Have yo ever asked a mod of what they're doing when they're online? Most of them surely get spammed with whispers, that's inevitable due to the amount of idiots on the game. It's possible for moderators to moderate around the Cafe as much as players roams around it. But mods arent really paid to do any moderation. It's a free job. So that cannot be helped really. Hotblackman a dit : Basically yes. Initially, Tigrounette never intended to let moderators moderate the café. He wanted to see if and how the community would moderate itself, as an experiment for future moderation tools in other Atelier801 games. However, with the community being the way it is, it wasn't hard to predict that this wasn't going to work at all. It didn't take very long to realise it was a disaster. It wasn't until then that moderators were allowed to handle café content. Redninn a dit : The big difference here is that there's no report system in the café because it was never anticipated this would be neccessary. As such the only way players can notify moderators about bad content in café is through whispers. When a player is reported for chat offenses in-game, a chat log is provided for the moderator to review the situation in case they missed the initial chat. This means that even when a report hasn't been handled for some time, the moderator can still look back and decide if action needs to be taken, whereas if they miss the initial thread or post in the café, it's gone forever and no action can be taken. Designating moderators to specific parts of the game isn't going to work, if a player needs help they're going to help them regardless of what it is about. Dernière modification le 1470070560000 |

They do check the café, they just don't have the time to check the café all the time as there are more things that need their attention. |

Anythin a dit : Suggest implementation of a reporting system on the Cafe. Now this is necessary, I might as well be an Islam advocate encouraging that killing in the name of God is no sin but salvation, I would gladly welcome the offended. To regards to the issue of the topics not lasting forever on the Cafe, reported individuals shall be dealt with immediately. What yo're saying is if the mod overlooked a report and has to track down the logs to file a case to be able to act. No, on the Cafe as of now, the procedure is as simple as, do not take action if the evidence has been erased, take action if the evidence is present. Although mods get spammed by whispers, it's easy to differentiate trolls and reports. When yo scroll up, receiving messages doesnt interfere the scrolling of the chat, it stays there until yo scroll down to the latest message. On the other hand, there's always the IRC channel for other way to contact a mod, but Im not sure if that's reliable. Now surely they're busy, that's why I suggest more reliable mods to be put in place, however, the down factor is that it is for free. Why does people want to be a mod after reaching the age requirement? Fame? Rights? Self-gratification? Im not sure if I remember a TFM admin said it but TFM sentinels and mods themselves have stated that they're not obliged to help everytime and it is up to them to take action. They dont get paid, they're adults who has real jobs, so it's understandable. Solution? Why not add on passionate mods? As much as I want to be optimistic regarding that, it's unlikely to see passionate mods enjoying helping players with their situations. Well from the EN Mod Requirements, it was never stated that yo have to be passionate. Back to my point. So, is it better to neglect the situation on the Cafe? Although we're not formally in contract with theTFM Terms and Conditions, I dont remember ticking a box as well for an agreement, we're given the privilege to play the game, but the User Content and User Conduct written on the Terms and Conditions has been violated and there's no due process. Sorry for this rambling, I've been into political news and affairs and this got me thinking of the well-being of the TFM players which majority are underage. My point is simple, really, it's better to take some effort than none at all. If the mod missed the evidence on the Cafe, then there'll be no action. However, if the mod made it in time to view the situation, there shall be action. Rather than keeping quiet and letting the community to self-discipline themselves, we all know that's utterly impossible, and there shall be at least a little bit of effort in enforcing the rules and regulations. Also desingating mods to an area isnt going to work if mods were to only do their duty on their area. As Ive said, they can be an assistant to each other considering not all mods can be online. But this is just an idea so that they can focus on one thing. Though it doesnt really have much difference to what they are doing now. Cafe moderation, it can be done, if anyone's willing.
