i know how to do all of gen 4's gym puzzles in like a minute. i also know the best places to grind, and i knew what team i needed before getting too far into the game. i had a very late arcanine that joined on the way to snowpoint city, but i trained it in coronet to be on par with the others. 90% of my time was training, 10% gameplay. i also know the exact way through coronet, and victory road as well
i finished with venusaur, blastoise, arcanine, sableye, jolteon, and dragonite which was an op team to take down cynthia without a randomizer. though, i did cover a lot of weaknesses just to be ready for anything that the elite threw at me. cynthia was laughably easy compared to her normal team.

quite ironically, team galactic had harder pokemon than the league. at one point, they had out an altaria and a dragonite LOOOOL

edit: i havent even started the soul silver one besides choosing a starter, which was salamence. i've been hatching charmanders all day hoping for a shiny. i have three boxes of charmanders so far

my first game was diamond. i didn't even know there was an op exp share until awhile into playing. i remember my first time playing diamond i built my team around gyms and not the elite so i had to retrain like three pokemon. the gen 4 victory road music still gives me nightmares bc of all the training i did in there. also can't look at medicham or machoke the same again since thats all i sAW IN THERE

on top of that i think the first time i did the elite i decided two teammates weren't good, like raichu and uh ... man i can't remember
but i trained up a haunter and an abomasnow in their place so basically i trained like 10 pokemon for the elite

and i did it all over with a team of 6 more in heartgold to level 90.

I tried to go through the elite4 more than 1 time without revives or full restores :D
