if anyone needs help running one, this might help:

1) download the file - it should be as a .zip or .rar
2) use an extractor to extract the file
3) open the EXTRACTED folder
4) open the "conf" folder
5) make sure there are two files in the "conf" folder - the 43KB one should be called "動作" and the 10KB should be called "行動". if they are not called that, rename the files.
6) go back to your extracted folder
7) open "Shimeji.exe" - the one that looks like this:

it's been a while since i've used shimeji, but i think if you get an error which sends you to the japanese adobe page, it means you have to download a different version of java. you can download it here.
((i think it was either the most recent version, or a version 6???))

if you get another error, print screen it, please!

How do you actually take these off? I think i got too many Shimeji's on my screen..

See that little arrow by the time on your taskbar? http://prntscr.com/2uqx2r
Click it, find the shimeji icon, and then right click the icon. Then the last option is the one that will get rid of all shimejis of that kind on the desktop.
Or, you can individually click a shimeji and press the last option which will only get rid of that one.

I'm bad at explaining stuff so I made pictures.


The last option, AKA random squares in my case, will erase all shimejis of that type from the desktop. You'd have to reopen it to get it back.


Doing this, right clicking the shimeji, will get rid of only the one you clicked.

Hi, I made something to help people out with opening up their shimes'!

Alright, so first you're going to need an unzipping program, such as WinRAR (which I have).
(Here's the download link if you don't have an unzipping program and you want one such as I have: http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm)
Second to that, you're going to want to open that up.


It should take you to your "downloads" file, where all the things you've downloaded should be/are.


Third, you're going to want to find the shimeji file that you want to open. It should be something like "example shimeji.zip/rar", or in my case, just plain ol' "Dan".


Fourth, open that file. It should take you to a file that looks like this:


Fifth, if you have a shimeji.ee (like I do) It should take you to a thing that looks like this:

You should click on the thing that I have highlighted. (If you don't, it should just take you to a thing that looks like this:

)
And finally, just locate your shimeji.exe file in the midst of all those other files and click on it, as I did so above!
