Fract a dit :
The update to version 1.46 on 06-21-2012 brought some drastic changes to the minigame 'survivor'. In this post I'd like to thoroughly review the recent changes.

- The introduction of 'meep': The ability to unleash a 'meep' to bounce away all the mice near the shaman by pressing spacebar, this ability is so strong that it usually results in instantly killing the mice near the shaman.

Even though hugging the shaman was one of the problems of survivor, this change grants every shaman an overpowered ability to instantly kill every mouse in its vicinity. Not to mention the maps where the mice are started off on a platform with limited freedom of movement, the shaman just jumps on the platform and uses the 'meep' ability...resulting in killing tons of mice with limited effort and no chance for inexperienced players to escape. What about the times where a survivor is cornered and wants to run past the shaman? With this ability, the survivor has a small chance of surviving this situation. Before huggers were not a problem for experienced shamans and were usually votebanned.

- The new points system: The survivor of a round receives one point, while every death results in losing two points. Every player receives one point at the start of each round. The player with the most points becomes the shaman in the next round.

In this update, the last survivor of a round does not necessarily become shaman the next round. The original concept of survivor was: survive a round and become the shaman. What this update forces you to do is to survive multiple rounds in order to become shaman. Death during a round is severely punished by losing two points. Why change this simple concept? This allows a shaman surviving a round being able to become shaman again the next round.

- The round does not end when the shaman dies, timer drops to 20 seconds. Same happens when only two survivors are left.

Not much to be said, except that this forces us to spend 20 seconds doing nothing while waiting for the next round.

- Hotkeys for cannonballs: Shortcut keys allowing you to bring up the cannonball item without clicking on it in the items list.

Before the update, the shaman would have to click on the canonballs in the items list. How fast you shot a cannonball depended on how fast you were able to do this, this delay however contributed to what made survivor such a fun minigame. Providing enough time to dodge for any level of experience. With the addition of hotkeys the speed of the cannonballs only relies on how fast the player can push a key. Nothing more than a stepping stone for experienced players to shoot at an undodgeable rate of fire. The idea of bringing more equality to the minigame isn’t bad, but this does not help.

CONCLUSION: In my honest opinion these updates were unnecessary, the only problems of survivor were: hugging, favouritism and God totems. These were dealt with by the community, by votebanning. This has been an attempt to improve the minigame, but in the end brought nothing but frustration to the majority of the survivor players.

Thank you for taking the time to read through this and I hope the developpers take some time to actually listen to the survivor community.

THIS THIS THIS THIS THIS.

Please Admins, return to the old survivor.

Double spawn is gone for every room, not just survivor... :(

Edit: Also yeah good job on making spawning each round borderline take you out of every map because of how laggy it is.

[#en]New super awesome mode: Survivor!

[/#fr][#tr]Yeni süper harika mod eklendi: Survivor!
