The creator just said "I can't take it anymore". I would've kept it going. It's a game, they all lose there popularity soon or later. They said he was making 50,000 dollars A DAY just from ads. I would happily try to keep the game going if I was making that much money a day.

It's just removed from the Play store and Apple app store. You can still download it from another app store, unless you have an iPhone or iPad unless you jailbreak it.

I heard it was because of
1. reporters were harassing him, saying that bots were used to download the game + boost its ratings since it had actually been out since May 2013
2. he was getting death threats from players claiming the game was "ruining their life" (a number of these can actually be seen if you check out his twitter)
