It may be successful if you stop doubting. No one has accomplish anything by doubting.

I have plans on encouraging activity within the sub reddit and hope people will tag along and participate within the subreddit.

So why can't you guys communicate with the community through these forums and encourage activity here? I mean, there is a reason why those subreddits are dead. It's because they are redundant. You might as well focus on these forums to begin with, because this is where the community already is, instead of nibbling away activity from these forums to some dead page.

That's like saying i shouldn't use reddit because all my friends use Twitter. Yes we already have a community but that doesn't mean we can't have another aswell. If maybe everyone stop complaining about how inactive the reddit is and actually try to be active, then maybe it won't be dead in the first place.

I think the subreddit's layout should be changed to reflect the style of the 801 forums/Transformice. Right now it's very generic.

Also, what's different about Reddit that makes this seperate community worthwhile? It's not like there's much of a difference, besides posts being archived past 6 months and the like/dislike system. There's no need to be defensive about this idea.

there is already a TFM general thread in reddit, which doesnt look as active. the fact to have a rerun to see if this goes off better while that subreddit proves quite of a good risk of fail or yet even worse, i can only wish you the best of luck on this.

That comparison doesn't really make sense, because reddit and twitter are two different mediums with different goals and means of interaction. However, when you compare reddit with the official forums you will notice that both of them are message boards, thus they cater the same type of discussions and interactions between people. So what does this subreddit add to the community that cannot be provided by these official forums?

On the positive side: at least this thread is active. :)

To be honest, if you wanted an active Reddit community - you should've just liaised with the /r/Transformice mods and then worked from there. If anyone was an active redditor and loved transformice, they would probably just sign up for that subreddit once they searched 'transformice'. They wouldn't go searching for and sign up for some subreddit dedicated to A801 with a minuscule amount of subscribers. Just my two cents, good luck with whatever though.
