I think TFM will cease to be a game and instead will fully become a venue for people to get together and remember pros like Barrydarsow.

they will continue to release cosmetics until eventually even that fails to sustain the game, which will be soon due to the diminishing playerbase

I'm actually surprised that it's still running. With the small amount of users that play the game, I'm really wondering how much income the admins are getting.

I used to go by Swirlfire here before I changed names, if anyone recognizes that. I was an annoying little kid that started arguments all the time throughout 2012-2017. If I personally beefed with you for no reason, well.. here's a late apology.

I played the game again just now after about 6 years of not touching it. The tribe I was in had a massive falling out coupled with drama back then, so I was no longer in one when I logged in.
I think of when I'd watch movies in the tribehouse with my friends. Complete bootcamps and racing, get firsts consistently. I actually completed a bootcamp map like 15 minutes ago for the first time in half a decade, so good to see my skills are still ingrained in me.
Memories of this game mostly make me laugh and cringe. Overall, it was pretty good times.

As for the future? Right now, I am unsure. 3 years ago people said the game will die within the next few years. Yet, it's still alive. Struggling, but alive. The rooms definitely feel emptier. There's less people playing modules. Vanilla rooms only hit their 20s, yet I remember rooms with 100+ people fondly. The honest answer is, we don't know. For as long as the game supports the studio, their doors will remain open. It may be a while before we see the game sunset.. but, as I type this, the game only hovers around 1k players, and it's been like that for many many years. COVID caused a bump to 4k with everyone indoors, but as soon as it resolved, we are back to being around 1k.
Transformice will never have another golden era like back in the early 2010s again. It's just how it is and how it's going to be forever, unless the developers figure something out. Unfortunately, the game hasn't changed much from what I've explored. New players aren't interested enough, and some aren't interested by the concept period.

It will soon be a relic of its time until, or if, they figure out new player retention. All I can say is those early days are missed.
