Building too much or building too little? |

Through my entire Transformice life, I have been seeing a bunch of overbuilders and underbuilders when stepping up to the shaman plate. I wanted to make a thread on your thoughts about overbuilding or underbuilding and any advice you have for people who suffer from either one. What is an underbuilder?
What is an overbuilder?
What are your thoughts on how to deal with under/overbuilders? What advice would you give them? Do you know any under/overbuilders who could use the advice? I'd like to hear your thoughts! Thanks to Riannaleo for some help |

I personally don't mind shamans overbuilding, as long as the player has the capability to build it within the time frame. Besides, it gives mice a challenge to race towards the cheese/mouse hole. |

It really depends if the map design can accommodate for under-building (a plank with an anvil on top works just fine if it's something like map 0), but if it's a more complicated map filled with a bunch of gaps kinda like many p1 shaman maps you'd see today, then you'd need to work out a balance on your build. I'm mostly typing this in regards to hard mode builds since I have less experience with divine, but if it's not normally an easy map then yeah don't fall into either extreme. |

Dukeonkled a dit : I agree, a simple two plank and an anvil works just fine on maps like 0. But when someone decides to add an entire H base at the top when its not needed at all, it really bores me because they're wasting time. |

The amount of times I see someone do one of the BEST builds in the world but then the times runs out makes me want to kill myself! |

I don't mind overbuilding if we mice can still get to the cheese and the hole in time, and sometimes underbuilding can be a more easier and faster solution to the map (mainly vanilla maps.) I always try to strike a balance in my build, but sometimes It ends up as a under-build. I never try to overbuild, since it wastes most of my time. |

Well depends on the map if i have to over build or if it's a easy map not build at all |

I'm an underbuilder. There's just not enough time for me to overbuild. |

I like to watch people overbuild, it fascinates me. I personally don't like to overbuild, it takes too much time and is highly unnecessary |

I prefer "overbuilders" although I prefer to think of it not as overbuilding but having fun. I know a few users that just challenge themselves or their friend group to build using specific objects every few days (or times when they play together) as a challenge. In divine mode, building upward without using any anchors, only using different transparencies on planks. Limiting themselves to planks and triangles, etc. I personally have days where I will use ONLY boxes to solve maps, it might be considered unstable or laggy, but with a 80-90% save-ratio, I'd say i'm doing okay. plus it's fun. That also said, most of my friends in this game and myself never use anvils. They can't be trusted. |

As long as the result is what's desired (reaching the cheese/hole), I don't mind how the build itself goes. For some people it takes a long time to be shaman and they might as well enjoy their turn while they have it. Personally, I consider myself functional when it comes to building but I also enjoy mixing things up depending on my mood. As long as it's all in good fun :) |

I don't mind unless we can get the cheese within the time limit.. although sometimes it is a bit annoying to see an under/over builder |
