Just kick the 25 inactive moderators you have got and do a huge round of applications instead...... I swear I'm not butthurt but some of my friends were rejected for the most idiotic petty reasons, it's a mouse game not google job application, chill. Also consider hiding applicants usernames when the applications are posted in the mod section for review because most of you are biased. Dernière modification le 1577956560000 |

I'd like to begin by stating there are a select number of EN moderators that are active and do their job efficiently. However, it appears to be the same small group of people moderating the E2 community at all times. There are plenty of moderators I haven't seen log on for months, some of which have logged on maybe once this past year, if at all. The team appears to be filled with deadweight. The Staff FAQ portrays a long list of supposedly active moderators, but this is clearly inaccurate as most of them are inactive or away at the minimum. The only response we tend to get when criticising the team for this is that while some moderators appear inactive, they are playing on alternative accounts/are working "behind the scenes". This is fair enough, but when you have a team of nearly thirty and you barely see at least twenty of them, I fail to understand why these moderators have public accounts to begin with. If they prefer working behind the scenes and playing on alternative accounts, why not be a private moderator instead? We can't contact a majority of the moderators on the team regarding anything, because they don't log on and don't check their messages. I understand it's probably not as simple as just removing inactive moderators, and perhaps they hold some sentimental value to the game and moderation team. However, at the very least please consider the possibility of moving some of the inactive public accounts to private. I am sure there are/will be other people within the team that are capable of publicly moderating the game, that will log in and handle reports/answer questions/etc. The most recent additions to the public moderation team have shown varied results, as they seem to ignore many vital reports regarding pressing issues such as racism in chat and hacking or bug exploitation. |

Soughbird a dit : Well done, It was something I was going to state. It's not that easy to talk about that especially when you don't want to attack the team. Since I have quoted this, I will add something else that need to be in discussed. I'd like to mention about the moderators that tend to disable whispers when they enter the game. I understand if they don't want to receive flooded whispers. If you don't want to receive that kind of whispers from other communities. What's the point of being a moderator? Moderators duty is to help and moderate players that are vaulting the rules and keep the game playable and safety for everyone sake. If you can't have whispers open how is a player suppose to contact an EN moderator? Most of the time, the whispers will say something like "/report *nick*. I am certain many players including myself already aware of that command but what if it's something to do with asking a question or simply reporting a player while being harassed and you can't seem to contact any EN moderator due to there whispers being disabled. You can't whisper any other moderator for this issue since they don't deal with the EN/E2 community. *I edited this post once again.* I forgot to add something else. A few moderators are connecting to the game with their main account that don't have any powers. Somehow, when these staff members enter their main account, it's nonpublic so it won't show from the /mod command since they don't have the #0010 tag. What bothers me the most is when these "alt accounts" are inactive. So, if a EN moderator is online and aren't using their alt account that has powers. There is no chance for regular players to communicate with an EN moderator since they rather login on their main accounts and handle reports over there with peace and quiet instead of no flooded whispers. Plus, regular players aren't aware of their main account unless they did some kind of research. Also, I understand that their is a report system. It takes a while for the reports to be handled which is why most of the time regular players prefer to message a moderator instead of waiting for hours to receive the karma. What I have mentioned needs to be sorted out. Dernière modification le 1578176340000 |

i have had no problems or bad encounters with a moderator myself but agreeing and regarding the above, i have only seen about 5 out of the 28 moderators be active, and i've been playing for awhile. did they vanish or something? i never see more than 1 or 2 mods online. additionally, sometimes, when i try asking for help, they have their whispers disabled stating they are AFK or looking over reports. just please do your job. if you don't have the time to be a moderator then why are you on the team? |

mhm, there are loads of mods that are online all the time on the discord server, but they're never actually on the game. can you just remove inactive mods, and the ones that dont do their job and constantly disable whispers, are biased af and don't even listen (most of them are like that, unfortunately) There are even mods who state on their forum profile that they dont go on tfm much anymore, but if you dont go on the game, whats the fucking point being a mod for a game where you're only active on discord, when there are better people who could hire instead of them. but no, the whole moderating team is biased and only hire people that are connected to them in some way. I fully agree with everything that Soughbird has said. Looking at the list of moderators, it is easy to think that there are plenty of members on the team that can cover different timezones and efficiently handle reports, but when you exclude all the inactive moderators from that list you can clearly see that it is actually small. I've always wondered why the EN team is so lenient with inactivity, and I totally understand that people get busy and need to focus more on their lives and might need to take long breaks from the game, however I do agree that members should step down since they can easily rejoin when they are ready to help again, or at least go private when they know they are going to be away for a long while. I'm also well aware that it's not a big deal when public moderators are not online since there could be private ones, but I have lately noticed some reports taking long to be taken care of which is why I believe there is a lack. There are some names we have not seen online for over a year, and the same goes for sentinels where it's easier to spot who is active and who is inactive from their posts. It would be nice to have a "clean" and accurate list that shows who the active members are and who will be away temporarily without the big number of inactive members (there are members on the list set as Away but have been a lot more active in the past year than some moderators that are set as Active). This would also make it easier for players to know who is available and can help so they can contact them, rather than trying to contact members who haven't been online for years. |

As stated in the posts above, there are a lot of inactive moderators in the team and it is really frustrating when there are hackers roaming around the game but oh,no moderators online. EN moderators to be exact. There have been plenty of times when I tried to contact mods through Discord,DM's,Whispers and been ignored for whatever reasons. I mean, okay don't be online in-game but if you're online on discord doing nothing what's your excuse for not replying. I'm not saying you need to be playing TFM 24/7 as to be fair, that would be boring but then again that's the exact reason the team has so many moderators,no? To cover more timezones. Funnily enough though, most of the people in the team seem to be active at the same times, leaving gaps. It makes me sad 'cause I see the other teams being more dedicated. For instance,I had the RU mods help me out with stuff more often than I would like due to EN mods ignoring or simply being offline. Other times they had no idea what I was talking about even though it was related to bans and such. So another point would be make the training better if it's taking so long for you to train them anyway. Even though it still shouldn't take more than ~3 months in my opinion. If someone doesn't manage to remember some stuff in such a long period of time then maybe you wouldn't really want them as a moderator. Also whether you like to admit it or not, there is a lot of bias going on. Befriend a mod and kiss their ass and your chances to enter the team increase gradually. Not to mention tribe members, soulmates and so on. So my advice is,get more dedication. Get more dedicated people that actually DO care about this game, that do play this game and that want to become mods in order to help the community not just because "Ay power and it looks cool". Alexa172001 a dit : Just gonna jump in here as an ex mod, the training period varies greatly on the person. There is a standard period used as a general guideline, but some people are simply able to understand and get comfortable with everything quicker than others. Also there's no real need to remove them if they never get as comfortable as long as they're not doing anything wrong and following the guidelines set for them, they'll still be an asset to the team as someone who can keep and eye on situations and deal with them if they're within their capability. |

Kind of adding on to what everyone has said previously, I think one of the main current problems is inactivity (or so it seems). I understand that there are probably private moderators that are doing stuff behind the scenes, and moderators in training from the previous sets of applications, but I think what the community needs is more public mods that are in game. I feel as if players rely on the /mod command to see which community public moderators are available and online. If there are not many active public moderators, perhaps some of the private moderators need to go public just so the community has more moderators available. As for the staff list, maybe it could be separated to show which mods have been active recently and which are away, so players know who is truly active in case they need someone to contact. I believe that if some moderators have been inactive for a certain period of time, they should be removed for inactivity but have the opportunity to come back when they have the chance. As many others have said, what is the point of being labeled an active public moderator if they haven’t even logged in for a decent amount of time for several months. I kind of understand the whole disabling the whispers and not responding kind of thing because I’m sure there are players who use the whispers to be insulting and disrespectful, not to mention the spam. However, if there’s a general lack of community public moderators who are active there should be periods of time when whispers are not disabled so they can answer player questions and concerns. Players really need to be able to communicate with their moderators in some way shape or form, whether it’s an emphasis on messaging through the forums or if it’s keeping whispers enabled! Finally, it’s no secret that at some points during the day and night, there are absolutely no moderators (in general, or referring to our community) online. Once again, that could be times private moderators are working behind the scenes, or public mods are using alts. However, at these points of the day and night, there is always a dramatic increase in hacks and general rule breaking. The gaps in time where there are no community mods (or in general) are on can be avoided in the future through the mod applications. Maybe in the mod applications an emphasis should be put on the times when the applicant is online and active, because if all of the public moderators are on at the same time during the day, what are we going to do with the players who are night owls who may need a public community mod at night? In the future with applications, maybe consider hiring players that are obviously qualified but are also on at different points of the day/night than everyone else. This will cover the missing gaps in the day/night where nobody is online or where we generally lack an EN/EN2 mod online. Dernière modification le 1578099600000 |

I would like to thank everyone for their feedback, it is greatly appreciated that you have taken the time to help us with this. I would like to address a few of the concerns already raised, as well as let you know our thoughts and positions on what has been proposed. Of course, the most common issue raised was the amount of seemingly inactive public moderator accounts. We actually totally agree with you all on this, it can be confusing to see so many names listed when you're trying to get ahold of someone, and so we are looking into changing this soon! Next I would like to address the concerns about contacting moderators ingame. 'Their whispers are closed so I cannot contact them' is a very valid problem, I absolutely agree about that. Some things simply cannot be sorted through the report function, such as anything requiring admin assistance. However, the sheer amount of whispers we receive from the moment we log in until we log off can be...a lot to deal with. Please remember that we are not only moderating en/e2 (already two servers), but also other very large servers, as we generally help anyone who contacts us. While we aim to help everyone in a timely manner, we face what I can only describe as a tidal wave from the moment we open our whispers, and so silencing them is sometimes the best way for mods to work through the load they already have. Of course this differs depending on the mod, but a silent mod working efficiently is better than no mod at all. Of course then, the natural reply is to think 'well, if you don't want to deal with players, why bother being a mod?' I'm not going to say that every mod in Transformice history has been a shining hero, because I don't know every moderator. I'm not going to argue over anyone's bad experiences either, because experiences are your own and I have no right to tell you how to feel. All I can do is offer my own insight into this. We all love Transformice, if we didn't we would be doing literally anything else. However, many of us simply don't have the same amount of free time that we used to because life is catching up with us. Education, employment, personal lives, it's all quite frankly exhausting sometimes, and it's the reason so many of us disappear off of the public mod board so often (although sometimes not enough based on our previous discussion). In the same vein, many staff (definitely including myself here) have time for Transformice only during the times we're actually playing it, as while we may have Discord and the like on our phone, coming online to investigate something during working hours or at 4am is just impractical. Like players, we aren't paid to be on the game and so it's still just a hobby for us. As convenient as it would be, my landlord does not yet accept 'banned hackers' as a payment method. Either way, if you have anything you would like to discuss with me privately about this, I encourage you to message me via these forums or ingame. Thanks! |

@mapcrew At this point, many players think of the Mapcrew team as a cult. I won't be so extreme in my criticism, but I want to focus on something that happened last year. There was a "create your lua event" contest as you remember, here on the forum. The Mapcrew team was supposed to review the event submissions and vote for a winner. This took a lot of months because most of their members are simply inactive and the rest could not be bothered. I had to press Bolodefchoco to press them, to finally just vote. There were no rewards for the contest. The promise was that some time in the future, Mapcrew would help the 3 winners (well, 2 winners, I won the 2 of the 3 categories), to give life to their event ideas and one day see them in Transformice. I think a year has passed and there has been zero progress on that. Meanwhile Mapcrew has been active on other projects, such as new Halloween and Christmas maps, retouching vanilla maps for these 2 holidays, the new Chaostmas lua event... That's all fine, new content is always welcome. But what happened with that contest? Why no feedback for a whole year? Why do we have to always use backchannels and friends of friends to learn what's going on? Why keep members that are inactive for many months, even years, in such a group, when you have to get their vote for stuff to proceed? I could go on but yeah, this needs a lot more transparency, so players understand what is going on and how things work. |

Barberserk a dit : Assuming you're referring to this contest, the MapCrew team was in no way involved with it. The contest was created and brought to you by the Module team and they were responsible for going through the submissions, as well as make the winning submissions into actual LUA events for the communities to enjoy. |

My comment is constructive, if you can't handle users complaints and instead you are going to moderate and hide my comment how do you expect to improve anything? It's no secret that 2020 and map rotation is garbage my feedback is to improve the quality of the permed maps and that will force mapmakers to up their standards. |
