Hi everyone ! Due to the recent events, many people have come back to play their favorite game. This last weekend, in France, a player named Survoltaje decided to organize a tourney for vanilla players... So I decided to make my own, but for the EN2 server! This tournament will be happening on April 11th and 12th. This tournament was approved by a sentinel. This tournament will take place on April 11-12th, and participants will form teams of 3, with an optional 4th stand-in player. Lastly, there will be rewards for the winners! For now, here's what it'll be: 1st place : 2 500 fraises worth of items for each player on the team Thanks a lot to Pokeyflash , Lucarc , myself and especially *Helping for these prizes ! If you want to help us out by also giving something, it would be highly appreciated! You can register you and your team on here, or directly in game if you catch me up (Mlavik#0000), or Lucarc#0000. Again, teams of 3, with one substitute possible, so 4 in total. Registrations end Friday at 4 pm EDT. You can also participate as 2 players, but you will still face teams of 3, and you can't add a player once the registrations are over. The tournament in itself will start around 4 pm EDT (New york time, UTC-4). More precise passage times will be revealed when every team will be registered. I'll try posting them as soon as possible so that everyone can know when they play on time. If you have any question, you can ask me either directly in game if you hit me up or right here! Don't forget to check the other tabs for more information (#Rules, #Players) Now, I hope many of you will join, and see you in game! EDIT: Sorry, no more registrations for solo players EDIT2: I didn't say it clearly in my post, this tournament is for EN2 players only. EDIT3: I'm not sure if it's clear to everyone, so here I am. The 4th player is part of the team, that means he also gets the prizes if the team wins (if they show up for sure, someone completely absent would get nothing). That also means you can take turns when playing, 3 only play at the same time but I don't mind the team switching players every match. Mlavik Proceeding of the matchs: Games will proceed in the lua module. For those of you who don't know what it is, it basically allows you to play a match with your own rules, that means maps of your choosing, as well as the score needed to win, etc. Scores display in real time, and the module ends by itself when a team reaches the goal. Here are the map codes for those of you who want to know precisely which maps are going to be used: Maps 2, 11, 12, 19, 22, 24, 40, 44, 45, 53, 62, 67, 69, 71, 73, 74, 75, 79, 80, 85, 86, 119, 123, 127, 138, 142, 145, 150, 7470754, 7470763, 7470774, 7470782, 7470797, 7697587 I will invite you in Swirl's tribe house when it's your turn to play, as well as some of your friends if they want to spectate. I would also like the teams playing after the ones currently competing to be there, insofar as possible. Depending on the amount of teams, another house tribe might be used to help and finish the games in time. Pools: Pools phase will be happening on the 11th, starting at 4 pm EDT. Pools will be groups of 4 teams, chosen randomly, and will compete against every other team in the pool. First to 15 points wins, but you also need a point difference of 2 in order to win (If it goes 15-14, nobody wins, you need to get 16-14) First two teams in the pool advance to next round. Depending on the amount of teams in total, there might be pools of 3 teams. Brackets phase: Teams who reach this phase will compete 1 on 1, and depending on the amount of teams, there might be a losers bracket too. (If too many teams register, I might not be able to do that as it would take too much time). Games will also start at 4 pm EDT. Depending on the amount of player, it might be the first to 20. If there is no losers bracket, losing team will be eliminated. If there is, you still have a chance to take the crown by going through loser's bracket! Grand finals: When every bracket match is over, the two best teams compete to determine a winner. This is going to be first to 30 this time, good luck! Important information you might want to know: Punctuality: Every team will have to play at a certain time. If you're not there at the designated time, you lose by forfeit, except if the next players that would have to play after you are all ready, and if the opposing team agrees on playing after. I'll try to be as flexible as possible, but there are some times when I won't be able to do everything as you would like to, and will have to move on if too much time has passed. Cheating: This tournament might have a prize pool, it still is for fun! Any kind of hack is prohibitted, that also includes Filter, or macros. As I want it to be as fair as possible, I’ll have the privilege of kicking any player that I think is hacking. I might not be the player with the most experience, but I have played against a lot of cheaters and can often see when there is one. However, as I'm not omniscient, I will ask other players, maybe more experienced than me, to give me their opinion about it. I'm not going to kick people on an impulse. I am sorry but the announcement doesn't explain the gameplay of the tournament. What are we supposed to do? How do you "win"? I checked the french tournament and it's more or less the same texts, I guess you translated them for the english tournament. I see there were problems and much drama there too, perhaps more rules need to be established beforehand, to avoid such issues. Dernière modification le 1586247000000 |

@Xleepy / @Tactcat You can check the map pool we gave you in a records room if you want, those are exclusively vanilla maps, but there never will be a shaman in those, there only are "solo" vanilla maps. @Barberserk each team will be made of 3 to 4 people, with 3 players and 1 substitute. Each match will be played this way : when 2 teams have a match against each other, 6 players will be put into 2 different teams, and will try to score 15 points in the brackets phase (20 in the grand finals). A player scores a point for one team whenever he gets a first. All of this is possible thanks to this lua module which enables starting a match between two opposite teams, while keeping track of the scores and changing the maps randomly according to the map pool. So basically, the gameplay will just be like you were in a 6 players vanilla room, without any shaman, trying to get firsts for the sake of your team, until one team wins and reaches a score of 15 (or 20 in grand finals). It's not really hard to understand once you see it in live though, but if it's still blurry after my explanation, don't bother asking again, I'll try to be more accurate. About the french tournament, it went pretty well even though there always is a part of drama, and most players enjoyed it, which led to this idea of making the same thing for en2 players. The main rule that we really want to highlight is that you cannot use any type of software or hack to make you better at the game, whatever it is. I don't think the rules that are already stated in the announcement will be changed, but every attending player should be well aware of those. |

Hey! So basically it's just as Lucarc said. Only Vanilla maps, you get a point by being first, so if your team scored 15 firsts before the enemy team, you win the match. The lua module is very practical (though it can lag sometimes), but you need the script of it in order to make it work. If you ever want to really see what it looks like, you can ask me or Lucarc in game and we'll show you. But Lucarc is right, you don't really need to know how it works, you just need to know which maps are going to be used. There was indeed some kind of drama going on after the first day, but basically, it was people complaining about the fact they couldn't use filterhack, but here I said any kind of hack was forbidden including filter, so I hope people got that right at some point. Some other complaints were about the fact that Survoltaje, who was organizing the tournament, participated. I'm not participating, Lucarc is but I'm the one who will make the final decision here too so no worries either. Another complaint was that there were too many people in tribe house, but I already planned on limiting the amount of ppl there to like 20. So yeah, many complaints, many solutions. So yeah I can understand your worries, but I hope there won't be as many problems as in the French tournament (but hey, that's what it's for right, testing it out, and then bringing out answers!) If some things still remain unclear, make sure to ask, it could help many others too! As Lucarc emphasized it, it is for fun so I sure hope everyone will just be cool and respectful towards others! |

I understand, but the vanilla tournament title is misleading, basically it's a team racing tournament, right? Oh well, I had a small hope for a shaman tournament, hehe. Well, I don't know if I will participate yet, I sure as hell have no chances of winning, racing is not my forte, I have a decent amount of first but meh, the only motivation for them are the titles and the extra points for shamaning.
