| Okay so here are the questions that I have asked to katburger#0015 : Q:1 Why did you apply for the role of sentinel? Q2: How was your reaction when you saw that your form was approved by the Atelier801 team? Q3: What Is your favorite mode in the game? Q4: Now, in 2023, do you think the game needs to evolve in the designers or leave it the way it is? Q5: What is your analysis of the conduct of current moderators? Q6: Did you enjoy participating in Transformice events? What was your favorite? Q7: What is your favourite animal? Q8: Which player in the game you love the most? Q9: What are your dreams for the future? What do you most like to do at the weekend? Q10: What is your name? Where do you live? Q11: Did someone become your enemy if yes then who? Q12: What is your favourite song and who is your favorite singer?  How did you deal with the heavy criticism? Do you want to become something else if yes then what? ( for example a mapcrew moderator etc) Did you ever get rejected in applying to any staff member if yes then what was the reason and how did you felt when you saw that your not accepted? Now here are the answers that katburger has given me: 1. I didn't have to go through the application process for sentinel, because a long time ago (2012 or so?), I was also a mod and all mods also had sentinel powers (although not all sentinels were mods). The forums were different back then: Tigrounette had just made forums out of flash, and the sentinels needed help with all the spam from new players checking it out. Soon after that, it was decided to split the mod and sentinel roles, but I got to keep both because I was one of the few mods who actively moderated the forums too. 2. When the non-mod sentinels voted to keep me, I was happy to be able to help out! I spent more time on the forums getting it cleaned up and organized. 3. When I have time to play, I usually stay in normal rooms. My favorite thing is shamaning, and I can't do that in most other game modes. 4. Having been here since 2010, I don't think the core gameplay or style of the game should change, but there can always be progress to improve it. 5. They're only human, trying to keep order in a game full of people with different thoughts and cultures. I don't always agree with every decision, but all staff can at least sort out our disagreements like adults. It's easy to find players complaining about their unfair ban, or that their reports aren't answered, but I've seen the long list of mods' sanctions. They're doing so many things, you just don't see them all the time. 6. Yes, my favorite event was probably the very first Christmas event. It was the second ever event of the game, and I have a lot of fond memories of playing with old friends. 7. A tie between cats, lizards, and snakes. 8. Charissa is my favorite person ❤ 9. My dreams for the future include continuing to work with animals and buying a house, because I'm old. On the weekend, I like to read books, write, play video games, and hang out with my pets. 10. My name is Kat, and I live in the United States. 11. I don't have any enemies: "Holding on to anger is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die." 12. That's a tough question, I like so many songs and singers. If I had to pick just one, my favorite song would be "Gloria" by The Trials of Cato, and my favorite singer Brendon Urie from Panic! at the Disco. Bonus: 1. I had to learn to "pick my battles" and not try to argue every point. Sometimes people have helpful suggestions, but a lot of the time, they just want to take out their frustration. The goal of any criticism should be to improve the system, not to make the target feel bad. So I'm definitely willing to talk about suggestions or help out in a specific case, especially one-on-one. But there's no point in engaging in a conversation where the other person just wants to yell at you. 2. I was nearly everything at one point, even mapcrew a long time ago. But I'm an adult with jobs and no time or mental energy for all that anymore! 3. I've only written one application for Atelier 801, and it was accepted. I've been rejected from plenty of job applications though, and they usually don't tell you any reason. It sucks, especially when you put a lot of effort into the application and feel good about it, but all you can do is try to improve yourself and/or accept that the circumstances just didn't work out. Deliriums answers: Q1: Volunteering has always been a significant part of my personal life. In my spare time, I help feed the homeless and distribute food to low-income households so that as many families as possible can have meals. In addition, video games is one of my biggest hobbies alongside of music, so I wanted to give back to the game that I spend so much time on, by helping the community and making it a safer place for all. Q2: Honestly, I was surprised. I had applied more than once for moderator as soon as I turned 18, but had been rejected previously. I actually found out I got accepted while I was driving, and I sped home as soon as I found out (even almost got in a car accident, haha) to begin the process of becoming a moderator! Q3: I've always been a vanilla player, I play in bootcamp as well, but the majority of play time comes from playing in vanilla. I do have to say though, I don't play as often anymore because when I log in, it's to moderate :) Q4: I believe the core gameplay is what makes Transformice unique, and it should stay true to what the game was made for. I have only played the game since 2015, and I have to say I like how it's become significantly more community involved through interactions on Discord, as well as the improvements Tigrounette has to patching bugs and pushing new ideas for the game. I think the receptiveness towards community suggestions and staff suggestions has greatly improved the game. There is always more ways to keep improving the game, but as is I believe it's in a great spot. Q5: I think the moderation team is the best it ever has been. From the time I became a moderator, the team has improved so much and I'm glad I'm a part of it. My teammates and I are super close, I've even met several of them in person. There is always going to be players who disagree and think we're not doing a great job, but you don't know how great of a job we do until you see it internally - the playerbase only gets to see a fraction of what we do for the game. I used to hate on moderators when I was a normal player, but then I became one and I've come to admire and appreciate all of the work we do. All of the behind the scenes work is amazing. We function incredibly well despite being from all over the world, through language barriers, and balancing our personal lives. Q6: I do enjoy doing the events, I don't have as much time to finish them now because I spend my time moderating rather than event farming. My two favorite events definitely have to be Back to School and the Christmas event. Q7: I love bees. Q8: I don't have one! Every player I come across is pretty neat. I do especially love Apo, Cate, Chibi, Karasu, Katburger, Muse, Nakano, and Ray though <3 Q9: I am just trying to get a job in my technical field when I graduate from university! Eventually, I definitely want to work for a video game company, if I get the opportunity to put my skills there. On weekends, I spend a lot of time hanging out with my friends in my room, or I go out with them. When I'm not doing that, I'm at my computer playing video games and doing homework. :P Q10: My name is Jess, I live in the United States. Q11: I don't personally believe in having "enemies". Life is too short to spend time hating people. I forgive and move on. Q12: My favorite song currently is Escapism. by RAYE and 070 Shake. My favorite artists are Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande. Bonus questions!! Q1: Being a moderator puts you through a lot of criticism, and it can be really hard sometimes. Since I've been a moderator for a while now, I've gotten used to it and I just kind of ignore any criticism directed at me. I understand that people can be frustrated, but we're also humans that make mistakes. I'm sure many players can recall a time they've made a mistake, the same applying to moderators. You get used to criticism, it doesn't mean you have to let it bother you, though. Someone is always going to hate me. I wish my haters all the best. <3 Q2: Not really, I love volunteering as a moderator and that takes a lot of time in itself. Q3: I got rejected for moderator twice before I got accepted the third time. It was extremely hard on me because I was passionate about becoming a moderator, and especially the second time around the reasoning for my rejection definitely made me more upset because I felt really confident about my application. I learned a lot from my previous applications, and I ended up being happy that I got accepted when I did. I'm super thankful for the opportunity. |
