Didn't they say they spent most of 2015 planning these events out? Isn't that why Deadmaze and the name change update hasn't been released yet |

in all honesty these new two week events have way too much grinding for them and i don't even want to make the effort to try playing anymore. the quality in events went down as soon as they stopped making weekly events that you COULD do in a week. not repetitive events where you have to gather the same thing constantly lol. id rather have weekly events back in all honesty, there was a lot more thought put into them and a lot more effort than these events. |

I agree 100% with you, Chugalug. I've thought the same ever since the start of tickets. |

I feel so slow with the events since the new coin system is out... I like the ideas of the events, but this is, somehow, a rush |

I think the admins forgot about that event planning from Trello... does each event were separated for each week or 2 on that image? |

Uditya a dit : hi yes you called me and im answering *cracks knuckles* in response to the recent decisions on the admins' parts, i just have to say that they've royally fucked up. half of my friends don't even play the game anymore and i can't see that being attributed to anything else but the fact that events are now forcibly making players endure the classical mechanics of the game. people like events because they provide transformice with a sense of novelty that's out of the ordinary -- something different from the monotonous gathering of cheese and shamming, and by extension surviving, murdering, and completing difficult maps (i'm not even going to count defilante because that shit's been rotting under its tomb ever since they removed the ability to gain firsts from it). for some people like myself, events are the only things that keep players from quitting this game for good. and that's okay! but then comes this system. we hate it, but we're told to 'please understand' and so most of us do. we don't see the point in continuing to play this game so we quit. and suddenly people wonder where the complaints from the non-childish players went. unless something big happens in the next few months, i'll probably quit the game by this fall. i'll still stay on the forums and wiki but that's beyond the point. i shouldn't have to feel like quitting just because the admins are forcing us to play the traditional version of the game, except with a difficult twist that ABSOLUTELY NOBODY LIKES. the beautiful art on the map does not suffice. as ironic as it sounds, recently i have found myself in a situation where i just can't be arsed to criticize the admins anymore. i'll just be seen as a whiny bitch. plus, i've not had much to really complain about in the past few weeks. of course, this is because i really only care about the badges and meli's been executing the art fairly well these past few weeks. aside from not fixing nasty resizing errors that cut off entire chunks of some of the borders which brings to me to my next point. the bad time management and patience that the admins have displayed for the past 6 years i'm going to skip the fact that we have a streaming mode but no adequate in-game AND shaman tutorials to accommodate the players that would be acquired from these streams (attrition rate from hell, man) 1. how is it that we have 2 new gamemode currencies released in the same event? i understand that the admins probably found it in their best interests to release them all at once to let players snag them as soon as possible, but it just seems like poor handling to me (see hype) it'd have been best if the admins spaced out their rewards 2.because of this lack of spacing, we no longer have badges for events anymore. that's ridiculous. next to nobody cares about titles. lots of people seemed attracted to souris-chan but upon seeing how expensive it was and how impossible this event is to complete, even in 2 weeks and even with some tickets obtained from past events, they just didn't see the title as worth it. bummer. i bet badges would've remedied that. my suggestion for the recent lack of event badges would be a seasonal occasion where all event prizes go on clearance (like the egg orb, dino titles, souris-chan, easter titles, etc) and the event-themed badges are awarded to anyone who obtained a certain amount of tickets during their respective two weeks. the amount would depend on the difficulty of the event. and by the looks of it, the amounts would be really low. 3. by the looks of the 'it's christmas before christmas' announcement, the admins were anxious to tell us about the adventure system. they couldn't wait any longer to release all this stuff they had planned for us! pets, cartouches, more lore, and a revolutionary new setting to the game that would quickly gradiate transformice into its pinnacle! and then there's this system completely unpredictable, full of flaws, no occurrent pacing that the weekly adventures had. yes, we expect something new every 2 weeks, but to what extent? 3 new gamemode currencies and an event with a bigass map? or just a content adventure with maybe a new title that the oracle is waiting for you to earn? bad pacing. kinda like in 2014. we waited like a year for the new skill tree and galaktine was pregnant with two of them. we were angry as hell because we were not ready for two skill trees. no hype was given. nothing to expect. no 'beta' server that we could point out errors in. i remember when survivor was unplayable because the freeze skill wasn't disabled upon release. if the admins want to show that they have a ton of stuff ready to give to us with outstretched arms, then they should at least make us hyped for it with cool announcements like 'what to expect this summer!' and advice columns for the admins, q&as, etc. remember paroles de dev? yeah. i trust adrazaelle will bring that back if she reads this. the time management and priorities of the admins have always been shit. and we know that. while atelier801 may be one of few companies that actually pays attention to their players, they do it in the wrong way. the process goes 'oh! tig! this looks easy to implement! let's do it!' and they don't even tell us it's been implemented. the eligibility of what does and doesn't get implemented is usually based on how trivial and easy the content is to add. it's quantity over quality. custom shaman items should've been implemented waaaay before they were. the unspeakable shaman tutorial has was abandoned in like '12 or '13 and instead we got like...... mulodrome, stars on titles, and as much as i hate to say this, badges. now let's move on to hype since i seem to be talking a ton about it. basically, get players excited about new stuff. simple stuff. if you make players post whole walls theorizing what might happen in the next update or fanart deriving from a simple snippet of maybe a new character or something, then you're doing it right. whenever tig posts a teaser on this thread or the recent announcements thread, then he's just showing how terrible of a co-ceo he is. teasers should be much more official and coherent. they should be harder to analyze, and the more difficult a single image is to analyze, the more images you can put. let the players connect the dots themselves, but make sure that them connecting the dots takes them the same amount of time it'd take for the update/content to actually release. you shouldn't just rely on hype from active forumers and let the word spread from there; that's making the players do most of the communication. the admins should be the ones communicating the hype fuel. i already mentioned an official 'what to expect' announcement, but in addition to that, there should be some sort of blog on transformice's website. no, the wordpress column under the game doesn't count. if you want to thrive as a company, you need to at least commission someone to make your website presentable and up-to-date. it's the first thing most people will see. make them say 'wow.' for the first time, i actually hope that people start complaining again. meli, i know you wanted players to understand your motives for removing weekly events, but you've abused the 'please understand' card if complications come up such as the failure of an employee to uphold their duty or an emergency, then you're allowed to pull it but if it's a game-changing update that in theory sounded good (like communism) then you're basically shutting people up and if you shut people up, you won't find out what you're doing wrong so let's all complain again, but let's just make sure it's not destructive. we want change, not bitterness. admins, you've worked hard on adventures you deserve your break but that break time's almost over. the numbers are dwindling. this is as constructive as it gets for me. sorry if i seem like an ass. i genuinely want to help y'all out. |

There's a contact form linked in the footer of every page of the forum, if you feel so strongly and want to give them feedback, why not do it there? This is a thread about the events. I agree, they've gone downhill and the duration is a bit too long (but I've been saying that for 2 years). This is a free-to-play game. I'm let down that promised updates haven't happened yet too (I need to change my username!!!!). But criticizing them over a row of pixels getting cropped off a badge that's barely noticeable until it's enlarged 210%??! And telling the admins to get off their asses and actually do something about it?! That isn't constructive! If anyone with actual power is even reading all 1003 pages of replies to this thread- Why would they?! It's a thread to post and collect guides on how to complete the event! IT'S IN ENGLISH. I'm getting dreadfully off my own point. Contact THEM. Don't sit here and roast them, the admins aren't here discussing this with the rest of us little mice. |

Tardismouse a dit : And I would say that they won't take the feedback. Before I state my point on that, I did send them suggestions before through contact but they did not respond to me or did any changes Which is UNDERSTANDABLE as customers are not in charge of how the business works. From a business perspective, customers help to support by fame and by being able to make revenue, but that does not mean that we, as customers, decide how the company runs. Obviously 801 at the moment is having a messy marketing system without much communication with the game community because of the lack of experience, funds and manpower and they cannot express that out to their customers because why the fuck would we care, right? All we want is a good game and everything is fine and all their trouble should be handled to them. So instead of giving suggestions on how they can manage their company properly with some suggestions and solutions with GAME DESIGN, MONEY MANAGEMENT, MARKETING, PRIORITIZING, ACCOUNTING, ETC. than your usual stuff like "make your events better" "why are you so slow" "community sucks" "better quality pls" "what happened to the other 3 dead buggy games" We all are not giving solutions and just ranting, we want to go against the company because it is easier to do that than to just understand deeper problems and solving those fundamentals before going to the surface of things. So those type of 'feedback' you give which are rants or surface-like suggestions are not going to work. because not only are you wasting the administrative side of the company to see these emails, you are demotivating the workers putting up for you. I am in the mids of studying game designing at the moment and if you think just planning out an event is so easy, boi, you really don't know things going behind. I am really not surprise for bad quality events if they had to rush in a very short period of time. It was an unwise decision to make for a game company Dernière modification le 1464078120000 |

I don't know why people are talking as if they know exactly what happens at the offices every single day. It's silly. Puffpapa a dit : Puffpapa a dit : You're not forced to play anything at all. It is your free choice to decide if you want to play racing, vanilla, bootcamp, or stay in your tribehouse all day. The only difference is that you now get rewarded for playing the original game with something else than just titles. I don't see why that is a bad thing, after all most people have been playing these game modes for years... Puffpapa a dit : Is this not what they have done and what they are doing in the announcements thread?? Puffpapa a dit : and I agree with this Tardismouse a dit : It's indeed nothing more than nitpicking. Considering the current event, what part of it exactly is poorly made? Is it the fact that it's harder than average? Is it the fact that a lot of shamans are unable to finish the map? Is it because it doesn't match the high expectations of having a revolutionary new thing every single time? Is it about the Childrens Day event which was created by the LUA team and not the admins? When it comes to event lengths people will always keep complaining, no matter how long or short an event lasts. It's also pretty silly to say the admins ignore players when literally the reason why these events change is because players show their discontent about them. |

Anythin a dit : Fuck my life. You're damn right at every point, for now. However, so many friends of mine have quitted playing tfm for the reason of events. Now it's your turn to make me a fool. |

Anythin a dit : Lets see: 1 - Bad/Boring game play Shouldn't events be FAR from the normal game play? 2 - What is the difference Between A map that has a high gravity and some obstacle and cheese and hole AND this event? What is The special thing in this new event, I could just go to the map editor and make the same map and Call it an event map 3 - The Shaman turn is wasted , They should not involve shamans with the events. Some people actually don't like begin shaman on this events, they would expect they would get saves but they actually don't , They just get to help the mice to get the scroll to get the ticket. These stuff i just noticed while playing the game and the compliments that i always see when the event map plays, Also they think that the weekly events were fine But it isn't for me since i like playing events from time to time I also got school work and shit going on in here, So 2 weeks are fine for me, The new Village thing Isn't a good idea to be honest , Most people just quit playing the event when they see the amount of these stuff also the event isn't as intresting as it was So why would people bother to play it? , I would rather be able to collect an event item To get titles/orbs and these stuff "like what they have done in the Old events" It is much more easier and i would be free to do some other stuff than trying To get a huge amount of tickets to exchange them for one thing or two. Anythin a dit : It's the fact that some users don't want to help and they immediatelly use the /mort command, aswell as the rewards are not like in the weekly events at all. Instead of getting titles/orbs/badges (plus consumables/temp furs) for a certain amount of items (like in this current event, a number of Japanese Papyrus), we're getting ONE ticket for each 15-30 minutes, depending how long the map takes. And it's exausting to gather 50 for a new title! Same thing for gathering shaman feathers for the stuff, while the admins keep adding them to trade with Oracle (in my case, I need to collect 400(!) for both Philosopher and Archonte -> going for Archonte first (idfc)) and it's exausting and long for obtaining them just for the fear of limitation (even if they're premanent, but you never know, caused by these rants). Now, since the introduction of the Survivor and Bootcamp currencies, many are currentyl focusing on gathering the stuff from Bootcamp, while some users (including myself) haven't completed the Survivor one (in my case I still need the badge, but I know some who haven't gathered some stuff or none at all!) and, if you want to create a farming room for it, many prefer to troll instead of following the rules implemented by the room creator. Now, for the 2 weeks bullshit: I understand why admins decided to make the events last 2 weeks because many users, like me, have school/college, job, etc. (depending on their age; in my case, last week I was busy with college and I have an essay to deliver and present on June 1st), but why this system? Did admins forgot about the request to create our own adventures? Was that plan "scrapped"? I don't get it... Anyway, this is what I believe about the current events, but will the admins care about this? I'm not sure... I just feel that this game is not like before :/ |

Tardismouse a dit : You said it yourself. Tardismouse a dit : (Plus I don't trust the contact form) Tardismouse a dit : Tardismouse a dit : You'd be surprised. Meli communicates like a CCM sometimes. Tardismouse a dit : Nobody but yourself is implying that I'm roasting them. I offered various solutions to prevent my criticism from coming off as destructive (bring back paroles de dev, space your stuff out, take advantage of hype during that period, and the badge one shouldn't need to be explained). Anythin a dit : You know good and well what I meant. Anythin a dit : Eventually they get monotonous and people just don't have the drive anymore. These 'events' give the illusion that playing these new modes is part of the event. While that's not the case, it makes people feel like they just shouldn't play the game anymore if they're already bored of the same concepts and are then greeted with a difficult event centered on the concepts they hate. I feel like this update to events was more 'if you didn't like the original game, then maybe you should quit! if you don't, then prepare to struggle!' Anythin a dit : They abandoned paroles de dev; discuss enigmas in event threads instead of making a mystery thread with lore and forum redirects to hints that the admins have announced; in 2014-15 mostly posted for events, gigantic updates, and impending reboots. Hell, I myself am impressed with how open the admins are with their company and sometimes behind the scenes. But they should turn those tweets, announcements, etc into something bold and big. The twitch streams for badges are a great example. The hype would be much bigger if the streams were announced days before, with confusing sneak peeks, and upon release, be logged on an official twitch stream thread. Tardismouse a dit : Anythin a dit : i h a v e o b s e s s i v e c o m p u l s i v e d i s o r d e r . Anythin a dit : Pretty much Easter 2016, but much more difficult and only jumping is affected. Too difficult for title, even with 2 weeks' time and previously earned tickets. Shows a lack of spacing/patience. If you don't like souris-chan (which many people gave up on because of how difficult it'd be to get) and don't like shamming surv, or bc, then you're gone. I don't know why people are talking as if they know firsthand how this feels for a player whose sole activity is events. It's silly. |
