as permed maps, knowing that before they could treat them the same because they were both basically the same basic perms, but now one of them is free, and the other cost cheese, so it could easily be turned to P0 and avoid using cheese, or permed without using cheese, etc

P22 maps have been free for a while now.

When players started to become aware that P1 was being treated again as a 'light perm' as it was originally defined I thought it would be better to only accept maps that were exported as P0 and had at least 100 votes. Map crew didn't have /info at the time and I had yet to figure out the whole bot thing so I couldn't make it available for them, so that wasn't an option.

The whole P1 frenzy ran its course though, and I'm not sure if that's as big an issue anymore.

apparently it's not a bug, and I really have no clue, I no longer count cheese when making maps due to me having so many and me having lowest cheese number so I never noticed

They are not the same perms. P22s don't play in normal rotation whereas P0s do. And 40 cheese is a sort of payment for your map to be shown in public.

Frankly speaking, I've figured out that P22s were free only thanks to the fellow MC who seemed to have found it out on his own. We never were informed about that and, therefore, haven't reasoned out the solution to some sort of these issues. I don't have a memory of epidemic requests to turn P22s into P0s for quite a while also.

also, can't you simply export as P0 after P22, or was that removed as well?

No, you may not.

And yes, you no longer can turn P22s into P0s by exporting them.

I don't think something will change in light of this. You can still submit P22 and P0 maps.

Going back in editor and reexporting it as P0

Although it's not true aqva, it only shows as Px, I did a test with this, I had a P0 map that I made one day, and I wanted to edit it and accidently exported it as P22, it still showed up as P0 so I didn't think there was any problem, except once I found out votes weren't going up

Then I found out I could set this 'P0 map' as my tribe house ;D which looked pretty cool.

edit: I'm not sure if it's true vise versa, but that's just what I currently know
