I'm a little surprised that you can actually make a story out of what little material you have, kudos to you.
Support, but only as long as the story is well thought, planned out, and entertaining, because if it's not, it would flunk. No one would want to go through a story mode that's boring and repetitive unless they're cheesefarming, even if it's their first time.

This will also need a lot of work with translations, too.
The only problem that I can find with this suggestion is that it would probably end up overlaying the events that we have now since it is both more interesting and harder to make. If that happens, then it'll probably just turn into a bigger tedious thing to do than it is now.

I love this idea, it would be great if there was a way to make a main story where you use skills from various parts of tfm for learning players to complete over time.
Like there could be a slight difficulty curve to it so that it's low enough for anyone to complete, but after you finish it once, you can increase the difficulty and replay it for bigger prizes.
The difficulty curve can address shaman building skills(without skill trees), survivor skills(dodging cannons or maybe cannon jumping), and racing/bootcamping/platforming skills(cornerjumps and turnarounds for higher difficulties.)
