This question / topic has been bothering me for a couple of years now: are there any moderators and / or sentinels in the Estonian community of Transformice? I've read through the forums, the café and everyday conversations between the Estonian players and I can assure there is A LOT of profanity, disrespect, abuse and bullying going on. Even the local police has spoken about how children in Estonia severely bully eachother ''in a mouse game'' at least twice on national TV! (They even mentioned the name of the game at one point - Transformice).

You see mate, until about 6'ish months ago there used to be a website called Transforstaff.com - This website managed and sorted the applications of every community including the Estonian community, one day this website ceased to exist and since then there has been no way for the smaller communities players to apply for a staff position.
It seems like the Administration only gives a damn about the larger communities and I don't blame them of course but I do blame them for not giving a shit about the smaller communities.
Don't blame anyone but the Administration/The moderators who could say something about it.

Instead of opening EN/E2 applications 10 times a year perhaps open once for the smaller communities?

Just to cover bases here. If you message just about any staff member with interest in helping out a smaller community, there are applications in that regard. But it is the same screening process as any other larger community. People can apply, but the right people for the position may not be applying in general.

I just find it silly to complain about us opening apps twice a year at most in our own community and also expecting us to open apps for languages we may not know/may not be qualified to make decisions for.

How can you even say that the "right people may not be applying in general" when you're not even qualified to make those decisions?
And why bother making a server for a dedicated language/community at all then if you knew from the beginning you didn't have qualified staff to monitor it? Youre literally doing more harm than good by opening an unenforced server for toxic players to do as they please to the point where even the local police has mentioned your game on TV. That's ridiculous. Not every game needs to be catered to every language and community out there, especially if you don't have the bare minimum resources to ensure things don't go wrong, let alone go smoothly. I can assure you that nobody wants to play on a server filled with toxicity/bullying when there's no one moderating it because you admins/mods arent competent enough. Its fine if you dont know the language; no rational person would expect these unpaid mods to learn every language for all their servers, but if that's the case (in which it is), it seems better off to NOT open/maintain these small communities that you cannot help since people will bully others without getting punished.

I never said I was the one to make a final decision, I can assure you if someone truly good can be found to cover bases on the communities that really do need the help, a staff member will make it known. But there are other staff members (the staff consists of more than just EN/E2, you realize?) that do try their best to cover bases for communities needing help, and they themselves make final decisions (that I can read, so that is why I said not everyone is qualified based off of what I've read). EN/E2 isn't the decision maker for everything that goes on. If a staff member is not comfortable making a decision for a community they do not know the language for, we are not forced to make a decision on it.

And moderators also do not decide which communities to open, I am not quite sure where that mindset is coming from.Some communities are also so small that it is not needed to scout someone for staff in that community on top of it.

You need to understand what we do as mods. No we do not have any input on what communities exist, have existed or will exist in the future. Saying we aren't competent enough to moderate a community we don't understand the language of is ignorant and uncalled for, we do our best to moderate everything that comes up but, when there is a language barrier and mistakes can be made (false accusations happen constantly), we simply can't take action against these reports.

Apart from the above, in terms of applying to these communities, saying that someone might not be right for the spot is very different to saying someone isn't right for the post. Everyone that applies to ANY community is very very thoroughly examined and the moderation team, as a whole, weighs in on them. We don't have to know the language to know if an applicant would be fit for the spot, we all understand English and we expect our applicants to do so as well, that's how we check what needs to be checked.

As a closer, I would appreciate it if you were less aggressive towards the staff. Accussing us of things beyond our control is totally ridiculous, moderators and sentinels are here ONLY to punish rule breakers, nothing more, nothing less. You are correct in saying you can't expect us, as volunteer moderators, to learn every language for every community but we had nothing to do with the creation of these communities in the first place. The admins saw it fit to make these communities for a reason, just because there's going to be rule breakers it doesn't mean everyone else has to pay the price for it.

I mean if someone really cared they'd bother announcing it and making it formal rather than letting the players guess that they need to contact a moderator specifically about applying? This is exactly the problem for example my server has a Q/A forum thread and its full of people who are asking how to apply and why Transforstaff.com doesn't work, are you blaming players for not asking moderators about applying? Y'all are so picky that some people don't want to bother you guys with those questions because some of you either ignore or just mumble something like idk ask another mod.

I don't think Yelnya was trying to be aggressive but you need to understand that something here is wrong and some people including me are frustrated about the way the staff/administration handle stuff its been literally 8 years since the game opened its doors and it doesn't seem like stuff will ever change and tbh its unfortunate because it got big consequences and you can see it and how the numbers of the concurrent players keeps decreasing everyday. No matter how much content will be released, how much innovation will be involved or how good is the gameplay, in the end of the day the faulty management of the administration is obvious and players notice it.
