Gwenns a dit : A straight couple is not the equivalent of a full on march down streets with banners and flags. Again, if you only make up appx. 3% of the population what do you expect? A producer trying to make money is going to try to aim for where he can make the most money, so he is probably going to try to appeal to the larger group. This is just basic economics, not discrimination or anything. I also don't understand what you mean when you say fight for people to recognize your existence. I live in America and homosexuals seem very well accepted here. If your experiences come from high school (your profile says you're 16-17) and you've been annoyed by other people because you're a homosexual trust me, if you weren't they would find something else to harass you about. A very common misconception is that when a gay person is bullied it is simply because they're gay and the world is homophobic. I don't believe this; I believe that kids are cruel and will target you based on anything they can find out about you. This could be that you're gay, an ethnic minority in a certain town, or even just because you got unluckily picked as a random target. Most of these kids do not care at all if you're gay or not, they simply want ammunition to bully people with. In the event you're not speaking about school and you're referring to the outside world i'm very interested in hearing about the problems you face. Perhaps unlike Antidepressant you can actually try and help me understand your point of view. |

Kokoro_pyonpyon a dit : The game is 13+. It's the kids permission to play a game like this, or they could be sneaky about it. Either way, they are meant to follow all the rules and go along with the game just like all of us. They play at their own risk. They will also have to deal |

I would like to add one more fact, the players in this game are not only from Western countries. |

/nosupport If you have been reading through the thread, you can see there is a decent split between support and no-support and it seems like it it'd bring more issues than it's worth. I think we should respect those whose religions don't agree with our own views. As long as they respect your views, you should be able to respect theirs. Telling them to just "deal with it" isn't an option. People are still adjusting since it is a pretty huge change. People who are from traditional families have a very hard time accepting these views. Not everyone is ready to accept it. If anything, there are still ways to represent the LGBT+ community without having the flag be implemented. You can change your profile picture to the flag of your choice or edit your profile on the forums. This way it's your own creative space to express and write whatever you want and you can represent the LGBT+ community. I think these are better than the flag anyways, flags are seen by everyone regardless if they want to see it or not. This can make the player who is against it uncomfortable. We want to respect everyone's views, so telling them to "deal with it" is pretty insensitive. Dernière modification le 1493997120000 |

To be honest I thought I heard them say that tfm is LGBT friendly anyway. Also I think you are over thinking this it's just a rainbow flag, which for me doesn't belong in the /f command since all the others are for countries. |

This game IS LGBT+ friendly. Staff don't tolerate homophobia or transphobia in the slightest, but if people have expressed their discomfort, unfortunately it is something we must deal with. Like Violetsweet said, there are more creative ways to express yourself than just a flag which your mouse waves around, so use what we've already been given to your advantage. Whilst it's a tad upsetting that we can't fully express ourselves, we're still given a lot of leisure regardless of the kinds of players who join. That's something we should be grateful for. |

This thread alone already shows the high controversy over implementing something like this in-game, and this is only a fraction of the Transformice community. One great way that you can actually show that you're apart of the LGBT+ community are tribes. This is a great way to show off the community you're apart of because tribes allow you to control your environment over what kind of content and people you want to be around on a regular basis, without having to endure the drama. Another reason why I won't support this is the fact that if one community gets something, the rest will want something as well. I don't think the admins will want to add a bunch of other flags, merely because one community wanted it, when of course there are already alternative ways both in-game and on the forum that you could use to your advantage. I have so much respect for the LGBT+ community, but as you can tell by the previous posts, it's best that it's not implanted. If the flag is apparently going to cause dispute and feuds throughout the community, it's going to make TFM's population completely diverse. Monsterboyo a dit : |

I seriously doubt it will cause any problems, no one will even notice it...plus what about the rainbow item they added?? isn't that similar?? Dernière modification le 1494014400000 |

Foxehfoxeh a dit : The rainbow scarf neck item was implemented because it came along with clouds, with the rainbows coming out of said clouds, and it wasn't directed at or intended specifically for LGBT+ players. It's universally understood that when the sun appears after rain, you have a high chance of seeing a rainbow. LGBT+ people are not as universally understood as rainbows. I think it would be a nice little addition to have, even if there may not seem like much use for it. It's also an adorable mental image, cute mice waving around rainbow flags :D /support |

A lot of you are so oblivious to how much controversy this simple addition would cause. Sure, it'd be lovely to represent your sexuality with this flag, but what about other minority groups who won't be getting a flag? Does this mean Atelier801 disapproves of those and only agrees with LGBTQ? What about the communities on Transformice who aren't supportive of LGBTQ? Or the communities whose countries are against LGBTQ like Saudi Arabia, India, Afghanistan, Iran, Lithuania, Sudan, Indonesia, Iraq, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Russia? Have any of you actually thought about how this would just generate more hate than just "omfg good idea!!!!!!!! support!!!!"? |

Cakeslices a dit : Every change that A801 has made to the game has caused hate, no matter what it is. Sure it may generate some hate around that aspect as well and it saddens me that society is like that but games such as this has many players that would really like the idea of a symbol of acceptance included in the game. People don't really use the flag feature much anyway, it's just a cool detail. The term "LGBT+" covers a lot of ground anyhow, even for those minority groups you mentioned. |

Paperjunky a dit : There's a big difference between a flag for sexuality and things Atelier801 implements for gameplay. Alright, let's say this suggestion was for ALL minority groups tied to LGBTQ, then there's still no solution for the communities who don't see homosexuality in a positive light. What do we do about that then? |

Big difference between forcing it and representing it my dude. It's not like the flag is going to flash simultaneously on the screen as soon as you log in. |

1-2 years ago I supported this, but I was only 15 and didn't actually see what harm it could cause. I'm choosing to not support this not because I'm "homophobic" or whatever (which would be funny because I'm bisexual) but there are already enough homophobic players on TFM right now, some keep quiet about their homophobia while others voice it. If these flags were added, it could potentially make TFM lose players that are 'homophobic', start more unneeded fights, drama, and a barrage of homophobic slurs. Yes the LGBT community has been through a lot over the years, each and every one of us, but do we really need a pride flag in ONE of the games we play? Dernière modification le 1494111960000 |
