I'd be pretty devastated if i came back to transformice to see my account deleted due to inactivity

It's true that a lot of "good usernames" are taken, but if this was implemented, an account should have been online a few months ago or be connected to an email to show that a player wants to have their account. If an inactive account just sits around for about 3 years without being connected to an email or used, it's quite obvious the player doesn't want the account anymore.

every account that hasn't been logged into for 2-3 YEARS with less than 100 gathered (even 10!), imo, yes, should be deleted.

No way. I would want a delete account button, but a hacker can delete it. Maybe to delete it you can put your email or a secret answer only you can know to delete the account.

With that logic, more than half of the tfm community is gonna vanish within a matter of days. Chill man, you're not necessarily gonna lose your account overnight.

I think I speak for everyone when I say this entire thread is directed at the accounts that haven't been used (and have gathered less than 10 cheese) in 3-6 years.

Exactly what Tiaratown said, I've been on an off TFM since 2010, I never always had internet where I lived.

I think that's fair. If a player doesn't log in for a few years they obviously don't care much about the game.

Now there were several long stretches of time where I did not play, anywhere from a few weeks to almost a year, but I always came back. Now If I came back after a particularly long hiatus and I found that my account was deleted, I would be devastated.

now on the subject of alt accounts, I use my alt account Theothertuna all the time, I make it spiritual guide for my tribe when I want a break (a tribe that is literally just me b/c I am an antisocial wreck) and to store extra consumables. And I don't want that account deleted either.

Basically do not auto delete accounts after a period of inactivity (especially those accounts that have bought fraises) BUT have the option for users to manually delete their accounts

I support but if the account of the player inactive in game but active in forum should not be deleted.

I think old, unused accounts should remain in the system without being deleted. There's no benefit for deleting accounts other than for your sake of having "a good username".

me too, except for i joined in 2014. (and i barely use alts unless i wanna get stats on that alt)
oh, and i wouldnt want the manually delete account thing either.

Some sites/ games delete inactive accounts to keep the servers from clumping up with too much memory so players can experience minimal lag in-game. I absolutely support the deletion of inactive accounts that fall under the requirements such as:

• No email tied to the account
• Less than a week played
• 50 or less gathered cheese

If Transformice were to delete inactive accounts and free them to the public, I think it would be brilliant to keep those old usernames locked away only for users who change their usernames. It could motivate players to spend some money into the name change, which is also good for the admins.
