Not trying to be stingy but what is the main reason why the p3 review don't give review for all the maps, how i supposed to know what i have to work on my map if the mapcrew not sayin anithing? (I know that is too complex reviewing this categorie and take a long time) |
1 | ||
I don't take care of bootcamp, so I can't say much about the way they chose to do their reviews - however, no matter the category if someone PMs us and ask for details about their maps, we should answer them. So if you want details about why your map was rejected, you can PM a bootcamp MapCrew, ask nicely and.... you'll have your answer. I'll add that asking directly to someone what's wrong with your map will probably have you a better and more detailed feedback that through general reviews. |

Hey mapcrew (or only p3crew), the column of depermed maps in the maps perm update thread is very confusing, you could put a division between each update in the thread or just archive that many maps that were depermed at once. Everyone has already seen that and no one has memorized all of them to the point of noticing, in the middle of so many maps, when another one is added. Look! ![]() |

Refused a dit : That's actually a good point. I don't think it is worth the effort to highlight each older deperm update when a new one is added for all Categories. It's already tough to manipulate the code when it comes to weekly updates, thus why we can't really add more code but clean it. Every other deperm statuses seem fine as it is and it's easy to catch up but this one is a very rare case *stares at Bootcamp Crew*. However, all of its content will be archived in a few days (once a 3 regular months cycle is completed we tend to put it in archives and start again, which we think it's flowing quite good. Archiving everything is a very demanding work and it's not something we'd do every other week). I'll note it down for sure and make such a case easy to read if it ever happens again. |

Hi again mapcrew, I would like to suggest 2 things to the team. First: Please announce the changes that occur in the categories that each mapcrew works on. Say when someone stops dealing with one and/or starts dealing with another. I'm sure this will help the mapmakers a lot and it will not be a difficult job. Another: Answer the reports in the P3+ Maps Report Thread with a new post instead of editing the user's post. It doesn't appear anywhere that the post was edited with a reply and we need to check it, which is already not very nice but it gets worse when the post is already on other pages of the thread and we need to search for it to check. When a new post is created its easier for us to realize the answer and to see it. Doing this won't be too much work too. Kurt a dit : OK, Kurt. Thank you! |

I'm late but... Welcome Xobis Xorcist#0020! |

Refused a dit : About that, although that's just my personal opinion: we used to reply instead of editing ppl's messages but it was a mess to then know which maps had been checked and which maps hadn't. I often review this thread but obviously don't deal with survivor/bootcamp maps, so if I keep answering that the maps have been checked, survivor/bootcamp maps will often go unnoticed making it harder to efficiently review the thread. |

Hello map crew (specifically the p10 / p24 crew) i wanted to ask you if we are allowed to make maps larger than L=800 in p24 category, given that p24 maps has 2 shaman and having a bit more of space will certainly help us mapmakers to do more innovating maps and with new concepts, It will be a challenge to us balance the map in terms of gameplay to make it fair (not so hard or easy for shaman and mice) but i think it worth a shot! |

Okpatinhos a dit : Hello! While there is technically no rule against scrolling maps in Survivor, there are a few major concerns about the concept that would make it extremely difficult to implement. 1) "Offscreen" Players. Since not all people are able to see beyond the 800px * 400px display screen, those who are able to zoom out are given an advantage as they can see (and spawn) objects out of the official visual range. In addition, if the map is long enough, players on opposite ends of the map will not be able to see each other. For example, if a player is on the leftmost side of the map and the shaman is on the rightmost side, the shaman will not be able to target the player as they do not know where they are. Mice might abuse this to their advantage and move to the opposite end in order to survive longer. Furthermore, cannons can be spawned in "offscreen" areas, and players will have the disadvantage of not being able to see the object spawn, shortening their reaction time. 2) P24 Maps with Single Shamans One of the key requirements for P24 maps is that they are able to be completed by a single shaman, in the case that the other shaman is AFK or dies early. Scroll maps may have too much space for a single shaman to viably cover. Shamans may also be forced to constantly move from one platform to the other, in order to target where the players are at- the time spent travelling across the map reduces the amount of time shamans have to spawn cannons, which makes it easier for mice to survive Mapmakers must also consider the ability of new shamans, who may not have the skill to spawn and move at the same time, and who may die easily as they are not familiar with moving around smoothly. TLDR; Yes, you can make maps longer than 800px, but there are a lot of difficulties with this concept and it is extremely rare that it will work out. Dernière modification le 1621017180000 |

Since browser version is not playable, it's only possible to play on standalone and steam version now and it's always fullscreen in this way, there is no pc with 1:2 (400/800) screen ratio, most of them has 16:9 and it makes possible to see offscreen in scrolling maps too. That should not be a huge problem i think |

Wwwarda a dit : While it is true that offscreen areas can be viewed by default, we still have to abide by the official display ratios. |

Fem31415 a dit : As i said before it will be a challenge for mapmakers introduce this, but worth the effort if we have as a reward new maps with a brand new concept never seen before in survivor. Thank you for replying. |
