Depends on where and why did they say that. For example if they said it on Survivor i kill them and call noob back or i don't die while they are shaman and call noob back.

I just shrug and say, "Yeah cause being a noob has gotten me to lvl 70."

I start say:
Noob = Starter

Someone: noob sham
Me: AAAA STOP DROP AND ROLL AND I'LL ICE THE FIRE MICE

but I think saying that will ruin my reputation

All i do is when i head into a vanilla room, i just block everybody there, so i dont have to deal with them until i get out of the room

Only ever happens to me when a map glitches on me resulting in mass murder.

JK I normally just leave or block them.

I usually reply with "Well of course I'm a noob! I'm surprised you even thought I was pro!" or something along those lines. And yes, it is genuine. That's my internet life, hear some trash talk, laugh it off, move on. Unless they go as far as killing me every single time even after I've told them a gazillion times to stop, then I get really pissed and swear hardcore. (Happened in tribe house domination. Got pissed to the point I left the tribe, but then I luved the tribe too much and rejoined.)
