Correcting you because you're wrong: Those players do exist. However, if retro maps don't come back these players will just continue to disregard racing just like they do the rest of the year. According to you their opinion isn't relevant, which is why you don't see them in racing rooms the rest of the year. If you weren't so high on your horse, you'd notice this.

If you are hesitant to spend time doing so because you fear that your time will be wasted, I will assure you that the maps will be used in some capacity unless they're completely unenjoyable, broken, or otherwise really shit. The strongest policy I've maintained as part of the Map Crew is that variety is key. If you know and trust anyone that has been a part of the team at any point of its existence they can confirm this for you.

Finding more maps to put in racing among older map codes won't be easy at this point because of how much time I've spent searching on my own - I've picked every available resource dry. I wouldn't often look through the submission threads though, because I felt my time was better spent searching in other places... that doesn't mean there might be some decent gems left to find in there, however. If you think you might be interested in going on the hunt, keep track of which maps you've searched through and post your findings in the Submit Other People's Maps Here thread.

I don't spend more than a few minutes per week on this game anymore, only popping up on the forum every few weeks and keeping up with select people via IRC. I won't be involved in the testing/selection of any maps beyond an advisory role, but the members that are currently dealing with racing share my opinion on variety. I was recently asked what I thought about adding a new group to the racing rotation which my answer is always of course "if you can find the maps, do it!"

Here you can see the different groups that make up the racing rotation as well as which one is active. "Others" will eventually become its own group when there are enough maps but until then, it gets thrown in from time to time with whatever the month's group is:

SpoilerHow To Use

• Copy all the map codes you want to load from to the Clipboard (Área de transferência) before opening the program. The tool will add the maps to its list when you open it.
• Use the hotkeys provided to load the maps.
• Note: Since the server sucks, you will probably have to press PageDown to play the next map, then press INSERT a couple times to reload the map until it appears
• Pressing DEL will add the map to the chosen list, and you can copy that list to the clipboard when you're done
• It will alternate between !np and !map if you're using it in Utility, to avoid the "Your last message is the same." message.
• Make sure the focus is in the game window when pressing a hotkey, not the chat box. The tool will send the enter key automatically to focus on the chat when sending commands. (If you don't understand what I mean by this, if your mouse runs when you press the arrow keys, the focus is in the right place)

3. This button will copy all of your choices to the clipboard when you're done, so you can paste them in a forum PM.
4. If this box is checked, there will be a popup asking you to type in a comment with each map. (There is a minor bug where you will have to click the text box in the "Add Comment" box the first time to give it focus. After that, you can start typing as soon as it pops up).

The maps in other groups are depermed or moved to P38?

The active group is colored green. All inactive racing maps remain in P38 until they are P17'ed and thus become active.

That would be great, but it's the sort of thing that admins would have to implement officially. It's hard enough for me to do it with racing. The game server is finicky, it takes special care to make sure that all of the right maps get permed. It would be a lot of work for me to do for all the P4-P9 categories every month.

I got this idea for monthly map changes from a game called Quake Live. Every month, the game's maps change. I think this game could benefit from that as well.
