Sadlelight a dit : will edit with redline • this anatomy is not what i'd rather call a mouse, but a deformed animal of some sort. I suggest looking at mice, tracing over their anatomy until you get it. the forearms and legs need some practice. •Shaky lines I guess this is explainable because you don't use an official art program. I suggest using Gimp, or Sumopaint! They are both safe and free. :3 Read Satash's post for more art programs to try! still finishing up the redline Dernière modification le 1409188980000 |

Sadlelight a dit : This is jsut my preference but maybe have some evidence of whiskers on the other side? Also, the tail seems to be coming out a little awkwardly and should connect with the back, not just come out like that. Now the legs, what is that square thing beside the front leg? It looks as if the other one was cut off, when you draw something standing you need to have a little bit of the other leg showing. The back legs look as if the mouse is falling, you need to straighten it out (unless it's supposed to be falling) and the other back leg needs to show. Your lines are also very shaky and i highly recommend using a different website/program other than animal jam paint. I hope this helps you but since im not too good at explaining things i will redline also. View redline belowww This is how it would sort of look like (Keep in mind this is totally in my style and just to further explain what im trying to say) Dernière modification le 1409190060000 |

Sadlelight a dit : Cute character! I really like how you drew the head, and I like the size of the body compared to the size of the head. May not be 100% realistic mouse proportions, but I enjoy how it looks! I know it's a style thing I guess, but I reaaaally don't like when tails are drawn starting out fat, and turning into a string-like thread. You can thin it out near the end without it becoming a thread-like string! Also, when you're doing a side view, don't make it so the closer leg completely overlaps the farther leg, especially if you're not going to do that with the ears! It makes the character look flat, almost as if it's paper just folded in half instead of a critter with some mass to the body. There will be some stomach space between the parallel legs, if you get what I mean. @Supastarx The whiskers on the other side wouldn't go like that! The head is being shown at a sideview, so the whiskers on the other side will also be going to the right as well, and be mostly obscured by the head. If anything, they might show a little below the head if theyre droopy enough. (The way they were drawn though, they droop past the neck, so if the other whiskers are following the same pattern, they will be fully obscured) Here's an example: Dernière modification le 1409250120000 |

i reeeeallly need help with this since everyone i asked thought it was a dog or fox, any tips for making it more cat-like will be extremely helpful! be as harsh as you want I really need help with this a lot (no other back leg because i didn't know how to put it in there without it looking really weird, any tips on that too would be amazing. Again this is a wip so there are no eyes yet and also since i am not too good with eyes e.e) e: if anyone is willing to redline it would help tremendously, not saying you have to just that i get the point better visually than with words Dernière modification le 1409277240000 |

Thank you so much vulli! I have actually made a new style today.. This will work perfectly! !! Sorry my phone is being we ird! Your my role model vulli!! And about that cat supa, the paws should be more rounded. The tail is to short unless it's suppose to be short. I don't see any evidence of another back leg... and the legs are too apart. You may want to put some fluff by the chest and neck and I'm pretty sure you should add some eyes, lol. -sadlelight♡♡♡ Dernière modification le 1409275140000 |

This may be intentional, but the ear on the right (from how im facing) is smaller then the other? Also I believe if you want it to be a cat or a feline the tail would be slimmer then what you're showing, unless you're drawing a certain breed with a more bushy tail, then it's completely fine. Try looking at cat anatomy An example i found that i thought looked good is this: Clicky Other then that i don't see much of a problem, besides the position looks slightly uncomfortable, as it its hovering it's front paws, that was just my opinion there. Some of the things i stated may be nitpicks, but i hope this helps! Response to: Supastarx a dit : |

Supastarx a dit : edit: here you go! Sorry that I'm not much help on making it look like more of a cat. I guess you could make the tail more rounded or skinny? Not sure :/ the redline 1. The ears are so close together and big that they are almost connected at the top, so make them farther apart. Even when they are farther apart, the "slanting down" ears will still start from the top of the head. 2. Why are the front legs much higher? If they are standing on an object, refer to the smaller picture. I don't know if you know this or not, but cats' ears usually droop down when they are scared or angry. It looks like they do in your drawing, but maybe it's just the size of the ears. Your ears are pretty big, but that's more of a style. However, I can't tell if they are sticking up or down. There's nothing wrong with the stomach though I think it looks better smaller (your choice! that's just my opinion) The chest should not be as protruding because cats don't have their chests sticking out in that view. Front legs: As I said before, they're too short compared to the back legs. And why are they all wiggly? Cats might have fur but it's not like that. They also have an elbow bend (same height as the knee in the back) but you could draw that part straighter than what I have. Back legs: These don't have much problem, except that the bends are incorrect. The top one (knee) is too high. Then you have the ankle(?) bend because cats walk on their toes edited to your pic Dernière modification le 1409286300000 |

Can someone help me with this? Before you criteque, also, I wanted to point out some things >_<‘ -I know it hasnt a mouth -The left ear’s kinda.. idk, off -It hasnt any paws [I really need help with this] It’s a Maned Wolf, just specifying since some of the features on a maned wolf are long head, long legs, big ears. Also I know I overexaggerated the tail fluff xD |

Ok so first. I redlined it to help me explain more clearly The paws (which I assume will be drawn soon) they need to be level with each other otherwise it's easily going to confuse the person who is viewing your artwork. Back legs are usually thicker than the front legs so they can support its weight, keep that in mind for future reference too. The ears are ok but I feel they're too pointed, like a cat almost. I suggest rounding off the ears slightly, however this may just be a preference and it could be ignored. The front right paw should have a toe showing that's higher than the paw (I think I drew it too high but you can get the idea). Lastly, the tail is way too tense and stiff, wolf tails are a lot more relaxed and droop nearer to their rear end. (However, if this wolf is hostile then the stiff tail is an exception to this critique) Corrections to this critique is appreciated |

I agree with a lot of what EJ said, but tails on maned wolves are almost always drooped behind the back legs. Here is an example: Click. |

Ejaffa a dit : Thank you! I’ll keep the hindlegs part in mind, since I usually make them the same length as the forelegs. Also, I would really appretiate with the paws in a lot of animals, cats and dogs/wolves, I really dont like the way they turn out for me..! |
