This is lame but not needed for me. You said less lags but you also stated your putting minimalistic mode on which doesn't do anything related to priority high. My ping is always 16-20 given the fact my latency to the connection is good.

Ping has little to nothing to do with your computer speed. This 2013 thread kinda helped spread that common misconception.

Ping is affected by your connection. Having a higher ping will increase your hole lag. Your ping is to be expected if you live far from France. Most Americans probably won't see under 100. Some French people can get under 10. 100 extra ping is equal to 0.1s.

If you want to better gauge how your computer is holding up, try the /ips and /cips commands. 60/59 fps and closer to a straight line are better. 36 fps is okay. You might have a hard time if your fps is much under 36.

My ping is always around 110 - 130 when there's no lag... if there is lag, it can go up to 200, or over. sometimes just 150.
I'd never try this, because I don't want to risk making my computer slow. It's new, and there's no way I'm going to let this computer be a waste of money.

I guess I may try it if I had a ping in the thousands. At least it's a solution to make your ping lower, but sometimes it doesn't change how laggy you are.

Ex: I used to have a ping of 300 on my other computer. Was I the slightest bit laggy? No.
Ex: I had a ping of 100. Was I laggy? OH YES.

I guess this'll help some people....

Whiskypickle a dit :
Changing the priority of your Transformice client doesn't affect your ping. Your ping is the latency between your computer and the servers hosting Transformice. Put simply, it's how fast your computer 'talks' to the Transformice servers.

When you change the priority of your client in Task Manager to high, all you're doing is dedicating the main processing power of your computer towards running the client. You may get some improvement from the performance of your client by doing this (As in walking/jumping etc. might look smoother) but you won't decrease your ping from this. That's entirely dependant on connection between you and Transformice's servers. The distance and speed of your ISP is the only thing that can improve your ping.

Also like Jaackster mentioned, changing the priority of an application can make your computer slower overal if it's not particularly powerful and/or you have other programs running.

Actually, it would have a positive impact on ping. Flash is a very... special archetype, if you will. If the client itself is slowing down, then it will be much slower to process network information. To give you a good example that likely a lot of people encounter, watching a Twitch stream will massively increase ping, because Twitch is a Flash stream. At that point, you have two Flash programs running, with one in particular taking precedence. It's not even the fact that you're always downloading a stream - it's Flash. If you were to RTMP the Twitch stream to a media player like VLC, which does NOT use Flash, then while ping may increase slightly, it's not nearly as dramatic as watching natively in Twitch.

Another potential conflict which likely causes problems would be the League of Legends client, which uses Adobe Air. I personally haven't tested it, but since they have similar archetypes, it's very possible that closing League of Legends while playing Transformice would lead to a noticeable decrease in ping.

The only thing important to note is that no matter what optimizations one makes, there will be a certain point where it is physically impossible to reduce ping without outright moving closer to the server location.

You should download Razor Cortex and add Tfm manually Razor boosts your game by disabling stuff your computer runs in the background giving you better fps which would probably reduce lag too. You should try it, It's safe.

While boosting computer performance for low-end system may be viable, tfm's biggest performance bottlenecks are flash and tfm's bad optimization. If you're on a decent computer, there's not much you can do. For example, I'm on a computer good enough to run just about any game in the world on max settings at over 60 fps without noticeable drops, but not tfm. #justflashthings

Also to note, /ips doesn't display the real framerate for some reason (it will always show 60/60 on any good system even if you were visibly running at a much slower framerate), /cips is much more truthful in how much the game suffers from frameskips and such even in solo rooms.

nice useless bump for something that absolutely doesn't work, the only way for better ping would be to move closer to France or look for better isps

Standalone is not the best.
I use transformice .exe and my ping is under 20.

You only do something for it.
1. Go to www.transformice.com
under login. states that you can download it. Do that!

2. if you have downloaded transformice going to do this. http://prntscr.com/9bp9x8.
or as to properties.

3. you get to see this. http://prntscr.com/9bpbo1.
but you must go to this. http://prntscr.com/9bpaxi.
what I stand here, you also need. natural hereafter apply click, otherwise it is not saved. after you restart your computer that everything is in place state.

4. Remove standalone
5. if Transformice exe asked to download software or simply do an example flash player. nothing can go wrong.

I'm going to tell you a few things that transformice need for a good ping.

that is ! a good screen displays that sometimes you have 15 seconds / milliseconds behind. therefore you mouse would react less quickly to what you want to do. I have a monitor which two milliseconds behind then there's certainly nothing wrong. my ping has never been higher than 30 and never less than 8.
ask just add me transformice and wait until I'm online I respond as best as possible and I refer you to a good ping :)

Setting the standalone to compatibility mode, doesn't really do anything related to your ping, nor would it do anything to affect Flash in this case considering it doesn't affect any software in depth and the standalone is just ran in a Flash wrapper.

Having a monitor with a fast response time can help you a little, but not related to ping. It's rare that monitors nowadays have a response time of more than 5ms but Transformice isn't exactly a fast-responding and super-precise game like most "gaming monitors" with super-low latency have.
