Since the mod can approve it I think it'd be cool but as stated before people will probably copy cool looking flags so its a half support for me

I'm estimating that the existing flags are about 24 by 16 pixels in size. I imagine that custom made flags would get the same dimensions. I'm writing this down to point out that (a) even though custom images will always be abused, the damage would be minimal and (b) a .png image file of those dimensions is not even half a kilobyte in size and should cause little server problems or the wide array of problems people call "lag" nowadays.

HAVING SAID THAT, I don't think this idea is perfect. No way a moderator is going to check every single 24x16 image that people upload. As has been said, a report function to weed out bad images would work better.

I also imagine that this idea needs its own permissions as to which tribe members can create/change/delete tribe flags.

In conclusion I think this would be a lot of fun to have :-)

AS IT TURNS OUT, tribe logos are still planned! I guess it's a pretty small step to create a flag out of a logo. This really could increase the chances of this actually happening!

I highly doubt the flags will be removed once the event is over. If they truly were only for the world cup, flags of countries that aren't competing wouldn't have been included. If your eyes get hurt by bright colors, this would already be happening as mice are allowed to recolor their outfits, and, make maps using colored grounds. Lastly, I don't believe that loading a few tiny images will cause you significant lag over whatever it is you might already be experiencing.

I respect that you don't want it implemented, but I don't share your concerns. However, maybe you would support it if people were able to turn these animations off?

I mean c'mon, poor mods deal with enough stuff. but asking for a tribe thread? Think of that ontop of all the whispers they get! Plus listed above, people can put bad things. And of corse, people will whisper the mods too. Think of the mods here ppl!
