Alohaanakam a dit : The same could be said about the people defending it -- Let's try not to make generalizations based on assumptions. Bigzzz a dit : When you say something is kind of fair, it means there's something that isn't quite fair about it -- Sort of like a grey area. Two negatives don't make a positive. I support removing all usable items and wall jumping since they are both just glitches. Let us get back to the basics already. |

Balljumping is not intended and not the same as walljumping. TFM is an established and old game now when walljumping was in the beginning. |
0 | ||
If it's not intended, then someone should probably, you know, I dunno, FIX IT. You know, that's how it's usually done when there's a glitch that is being abused in games. The responsibility of the glitch isn't on the players, it's on the devs, so you really can't expect people to not use it to their advantage by saying you're not supposed to do that. Well now that's it been established that it's not it's intended use, hopefully this thread will get the admins attention if they don't already know about it. I don't think banning it is appropriate, but maybe the equivalent to a kick would be better if a mod just so happens to stumble upon players abusing it. Though I have no idea how the moderation team works so take this with a grain of salt, this is just my opinion on it. |

I'm not here to discuss/debate whether it should be banned or not, that's for an internal discussion, not a public one, until we as a team come to a decision. I'm here to explain a difference that is always brought up because walljumping is not the same as any other glitch. And players choose to use a glitch so they do have agency in this, so you cannot say they have no responsibility for abusing a glitch regardless if you think they should be banned for it or not. They chose to do it. |

Shouldutroll a dit : If they know it's a bannable offense, yes, then the responsibility is on the players, for a moment. But how many of them know? You just can't go and punish players for not reading the forums. Another thing is, you can't expect players to take the responsibility of not using a glitch if A801 ignores the problem and doesn't fix it for months (which is something they're known to do with these kinds of bugs). At that point it just becomes a game feature, just like spirit glitching and water glitching did. Ultimately, game breaking bugs need to be fixed ASAP, especially if they can be abused. You can't just move the responsibility of them to the players, that will never work. Any respectable game dev would've removed balls from the game as soon as the glitch was found, it's a quick temporary hotfix while a more lasting solution is found. But we don't roll like that 'round 'ere. Dernière modification le 1437374580000 |

That's why people are given warnings/kicks not bans for their first time abusing a glitch. Uglycasanova wasnt even banned just kicked. |

Shouldutroll a dit : Fair enough, but the fact of the matter is that this issue shouldn't be left as it is and this abusable ball jumping glitch should be hotfixed as soon as possible. The longer this problem stands, the more resources and time of staff are wasted having to needlessly warn/kick abusers rather than dealing with more important matters. Although why do I care? I'm just a bootcamp hermit who just spends all their time in #records all day. Prr a dit : Couldn't be better said. Dernière modification le 1437376380000 |

It's up to the admins at this point but it's always nice knowing someone is at least trying to do something about it until that time rolls around -- Which we all know probably won't be for a while as it's been said. I don't really have a problem with moderation handling things for the time being, for reasons that have already been said (warnings and kicks before bans) if something is done about it. |

Ball jumping has been happening since the first day they came out (obviously). I kind of agree on why they were never taken up but the fact of a random kick gets to me in a way of why the admins never got rid of them. A warning should have never been placed as noone else knew it was a glitch. |

It's not the most telegraphic glitch, but it's still pretty easy to tell that something isn't right if it's giving you upwards momentum from something that's spawned in place with no momentum and then seemingly "bounces" up off of nothing. If a warning were to never be placed, what's the point of a warning then? Now you know not to do it -- That's the point. Information will spread and more people will know about it, and then it'll spread some more and repeat. Dernière modification le 1437392220000 |

You're making a riot over really stupid argoument. This is a glitch like the esc and the lag glitch which will never be fixed, and mods will sanction them according to their will/moment. Stuff like this is and has always been a grey area that is intended not to be fixed ever. Btw how many firsts are going to be taken by someone that is using this "glitch"? Not enough to cause such a mess. Dernière modification le 1437395580000 |

Ifrancesco a dit : I come to the discussion sub-forum to discuss things because it can be interesting to see things from multiple point of view as well as an interesting topic to just talk about, I also enjoy being able to talk with people in a civilized manner. I don't quite see how I'm "rioting" when it's just been either giving feedback/pinions on something, and explaining how things could be considered (in this case, for example) a glitch. Ifrancesco a dit : Water-Glitching was fixed -- Though that effected a larger area of the game and broke plenty of maps (as well as the multiple clouds in totems which was also a glitch). I wouldn't say consumables are nearly as bad but I can see them fixing something like this if it gets too out of hand. Something else regarding consumables; They also fixed them when people were using Tombstones to block the hole, so I wouldn't put it completely out of the question, just not a priority. Ifrancesco a dit : I wouldn't say it's just about first -- Stuff like this could easily "break" maps too either ruining their entire concept or just being a mechanism, with maybe a few rare cases of people either blocking or crashing something entirely. You'd be surprised what people could achieve. (Yes, I know trolling is a part of the game but even that has a line where it stops being such a thing). Dernière modification le 1437395640000 |

Trolling is indeed part of the game, but the way this part of the game is fun or not it's not up to us. Tig finds a group of 4-5 players rading a room , favoing themselves and killing all the other players funny while i don't. Not my ploblem, i try to beeart them fair and square with my tools. As said making this whole mess and accusing the staff for something that isn't even related completely to them (ok a 0h ban whatevs, i've receved worse even without a reason) Water and chocolate physics has changed a whole lot of times without even being announced so more likely this bug will (or not) be fixed without us even noticing. And I'm trying to repost this beecause why not. Also, i'm using this thread to ask about another glitch, if this can be a problem it's ok to edit the message. We're right now talking about a glitch (the ball jumping) that actually gives you an advantage. The glitch I use most does not gives you any advantage, otherwise makes building harder. ![]() After many tests (i discovered this glitch back wneh the divine was implemented) I've seen is that it doesn't give you any advantage, building gest more harder than the usual divine because the way objects are spawned makes really hard to understand where the nail is going to be. I use this "way of building" just because i find the divine too easy and not challenging. But am i allowed to use a glitch/bug even if it maakes things harder? The rules states that glitches that gives to a player an unfair advantage are punishable. I'm ok with that, but this glitch (that I'd like to continue using despite not breaking the rules) does the opposite, making the difficulty cap a little higher. |

Ifrancesco a dit : People raiding a room and favoring one another isn't fun, but they are using the tools provided to them with one of their intended uses -- Even if we don't like that specific use whatever they're doing (most of the time) is how the items are supposed to work and aren't abusing a glitch. Ifrancesco a dit : We'll never know until it happens so, shrug. |

As it is using consubables, they're born just for trolling. It's the same loop going over and over. |

1:mods need to fix that ball jumping glitch , before you try to kick/ban innocent players. 2: mods/devs don't wasting your time for this thing , just find out the hackers and ban them permanent because there's a lot of hackers everywhere. |
