All public staff members already have coloured names ingame and a command like /mod and /mapcrew to distinguish themselves, I'm not sure what benefit a title would offer at all.

New players are usually not aware TFM staff has coloured usernames, nor are they aware of the existence of those commands. A title that says Moderator is much more obvious than a random yellow username.

Not to mention that having an official title reduces the ability to pretend you're staff.

I agree with that, however there can be more done than just the coloured names - such as including text on the profile to denote that the user is a moderator or whatnot.

That would function the same way as a title would yes, but it would still leave a player to having to click everyone's profile to see who is staff opposed to being able to spot a member of staff directly whenever you see their mouse playing.

It all comes down to what the staff wants. I can perfectly imagine that they're not willing to use a specific title because that means there is no point to hunt for more titles on their account. In that case there is little point to implement this suggestion, because consistency is indeed important. Perhaps two titles could be a solution for that, one chosen by themselves and one showing their staff position.

i think that would be ridiculous because arbs supposed to be 'secret', and that's the point of it. we don't want a title to reveal about that, because it would ruin the purpose of being secret (exposing the names of these arbs could get you banned too)

Even if we had these titles I can't see most staff using them, or wanting to be limited to only using them if we had no choice. We have coloured nicknames on our profiles and if anything you might as well just give MC blue nicknames in room, Mods yellow ones etc but I really don't think it's necessary

I remember suggesting this a long time ago back when I was a sentinel. Dunno what happened but I think it'd be way more suitable than a title that not all staff would be required to use.

I remember a bunch of things that were suggested to differentiate between staff members and regular users, and personally having a title that they wear (assuming that's what you mean) Wouldn't really make them stand out that much unless it was colored like the admins titles.

But since i don't really have anything to add, i'll give it half support.

Keep in mind these titles are only for staff, if you where confused, you can read what i wrote back in the beginning.

The general idea is okay, I guess... It's just not very important though and I don't think it would be prioritized by admins.
There are already plenty of ways to recognize a staff member, I'm not completely against it but what's the point really, it won't save anyone's time unless you are in the same room as the staff member to see their colored title.
