Why is it mods can ban players with no hard evidence. I am not saying all mods do this because I know some mods do always record/ gather evidence, however In my personal experience the mod I have had to deal with didn’t, resulting in a he said, she said situation, which is clearly heavily biased towards the moderator, even if they are wrong and don’t admit it. Parkour mods have to gather evidence for any actions, and I think this type of system is much better for community relations, they don’t even have the ability to hide their name from roomlist unlike tfm mods, but it still works. This would also allow players who felt they were unjustly banned to actually get a defense, because in the current state trying to defend yourself gets you nowhere but being told to stop causing drama. |

So one note regarding if a ban appeal is checked by multiple mods in order to avoid any bias moves having RANDOM mods who could be as a second opinion than a mod picked by the mod who banned that player. Cause it is would be pretty suspicious if it was always the same 2 mods who reviewed these ban appeals. Having random mods would limit the abuse/the disrespectful treatement during a ban appeal discussion. And giving private Mods a public mod account would be helpful as well. I got banned once by a private mod and I had zero contact whatsoever with that mod and I had to have a medium mod in between to tell me what that mod thinks of the situation and what would he do after I explained what happened. Well needless to say he understood the situation but regardless he told me "you will get banned because of your old sanctions that you already got banned for" needless to say he got fired. But that is what I am trying to say that having a contact with private mods straight ahead using their public mod account would be super helpful. Dernière modification le 1597329300000 |

Error_404 a dit : We have a preset rotation to avoid the same two mods reviewing several ban appeals in a row. The mod who placed the sanction is not allowed to "choose" a mod they'd like to review a ban appeal with. This was already determined before we opened the thread, but its nice to see that we had the same idea in mind! Error_404 a dit : If necessary, private mods can use our new account to talk with players about sanctions, however this is not the main purpose of the account nor will any private mods be forced to do so. In cases like these, the moderator acting as a middle man will be able to give a second opinion on the ban, which seems to be the main issue here. |

Charlen a dit : It is just that this wasn't the way this was dealt with on my case. The mod who was in the middle just told me what the private mod did and told me he didn't have any say in the situation. Regardless the ban was not lifted. So it really was frustrating to deal with that so it will be super helpful if the private mods who banned players can be refered to the account that was made for the private mods and the mod who is teaching them/the one who is responsible for them will be in that ban appeal thread to report it back in case it was dealt with professionally/disrespectfully. So yeah I really do encourage that private mods have access to the public mod account in terms of ban appeals. |

Freedom of speech does not exist in this community guys. |

Spartanninja a dit : That's pretty much true, you are not allowed to say things that are against the game rules. "Freedom of Speech" as most people use it is from the US constitution, and it means US citizens can legally criticize their government without fear of retaliation (please don't start a political discussion about this!) It does not, however, mean people or businesses from the US or anywhere else have to ignore whatever you say if they don't like it. |

Katburger a dit : Then let me recite what I previously said without including anything about my sanction. I want to point out that the current set of rules still has information about micepix which does not exist anymore. It hasn’t been updated in over two years. The guidelines for what can and can’t be used as an avatar are so vague that I have even seen some staff members who would have not abided by them in the past given they were regular players. Staff members should be coordinated when it comes to handing out punishments, not just favoring someone by having the mentality that “I dislike this member more than others so they deserve a more strict punishment.” As a company, Atelier801 should be taking in any feedback they receive whether positive or negative. That is how other companies strive and appeal to their members. If what is being said is ignored how will they even have proper communication or know what mistakes they are making to prosper. The same can be said about staff members, just because someone is giving out negative criticism does not mean it’s a personal attack. I am not insulting anyone. It’s giving advice in a way meant to improve the structure of the team which I can see now most of you lack. I’m giving out constructive feedback so don’t delete my post for attempting to appeal a sanction. I genuinely want to know more. |

You're right, we definitely need to take another look at the forum rules and update them. "Insults" is on the list of disallowed avatars, although "vulgarity" should also be included there. Unfortunately, we have no way of simply removing an avatar with a warning to let the user know about the rule; the lowest possible sanction is one hour, which doesn't seem like a warning so much. Why do you feel that someone sanctioned you because they didn't like you? All middle finger avatars that we find are removed with the lowest sanction first. If you see anyone with a middle finger avatar, feel free to report their profile on the forums. You are definitely welcome to post constructive criticism without discussing a user's specific sanctions, although you will likely get a more personal response specifically about your sanction from using the contact thread. We can only discuss specific sanctions in private message for the user's privacy and for the sake of not posting inappropriate evidence publicly. We definitely welcome feedback for specific things that we can do, like update the forum rules. Regarding constructive criticism from your removed post, "Focus on moderating the important aspects of the community", removing an avatar is not taking very much of our focus. We don't spend time to go looking for them, but sanction them when we see them or they are reported to us, which takes less than a minute. Just because we handle some small issues doesn't mean we ignore the others. Dernière modification le 1597894140000 |

Thank you for the thorough response regarding the guidelines being updated. That is definitely something that should be presented to the admins, although it’s not an important issue at the moment. My suggestion for that would be an alert both in-game and on the forums so it’ll cover what they frequently use. I was not referring to myself specifically, it goes back to the point of favoritism. For example, I have seen users in-game actively abusing the rules with a mod present in the room but because they were friends or had a relation no sanctions were given out. I’m not entirely sure if is still a current issue but I assume to some extent it is. I agree that my previous statement was wrong. |

Hello! What's the point of this new rule? What is so inappropriate about having/supporting political views or using politicians as a profile picture, especially when you address this rule in an international way? Is it really necessary to be this restrictive? |
