Maybe it's wrong for me to feel this way, but I really really *hate* seeing the word "generic" on map reviews. Again, I think it's NEVER in a map helper's place to say that since his job is to make the map better. The map's essence is in its concept and attacking the concept of a map by saying it's generic is like saying "Your map is hopeless".

What a map's concept will be is up to the mapmaker. It's HIS map, not ours. If he wants to make a map with a generic concept for fun, who are we to stop him? A map helper's concern shouldn't be "adding novel ideas to the rotation", but more of "teaching other players to execute their ideas better".

Like I've said a few times before, what I'm looking for reviews is detail on how to make maps better. I really don't need people to say things like "map is generic", or "gameplay is overused" since that's the call of the map crew people.

I would really like to recruit more people into our group, but I'd be more inclined to vote NO on the applications of people who show more interest in judging maps than improving them.

Anyway, I need sleep. I'll review the applications again tomorrow to see if they'd sound better somehow.

By the way, good news for you is that my vote counts for only 25% of the members. The other members can overrule me by saying they still want you. Isn't this system great? I *can't* be an evil tyrant, denying people's applications based on my own personal tastes!

Another thing, ever since Zakros opened his thread, I've yet to receive a client who needed his/her P3 or P13 map reviewed. *cough*

But anyway, I haven't denied your application. In fact, I haven't looked at your P3 review yet since I myself don't specialize in that category. I'll look at it again and see.

The map looks fine for p1, but it doesn't bring any new concept for p4 , you should try to remove the left and the right ice big blocks so you have more ways to build.
In the middle of the grass grounds you should add a cloud ground so it's a harder way.
In other words try something like this:

Generic maps are usually the only maps that are accepted into higher rotations nowadays, so what's the problem with it?
