I don't think all self diagnosis are accurate either. If someone has a mental problem, they might not be mentally fit to diagnose their own problem. Even doctors sometimes have to go through a few diagnosis until they define exactly what is wrong with a person. Even after that, they can be diagnosed with something they don't actually have that is just situational (my brother had situational depression that was terribly bad, he was diagnosed with manic depression, but no longer shows any symptoms). Could very well be that someone who has been diagnosed with something won't be living with that for the rest of their life and can grow out of it too. Your disorder doesn't have to be your identity.

However, with physical diagnosis, those can often be accurate, but yeah even then those can fail. No one should really be making their own diagnosis.
