Could I get some critique on this before I go any further? I do know that the back is a little odd though (the spine curves sharply), but I might not change that bit. Besides that, be as harsh as you need to be v Mouse Damn, it must look weirder than I thought lmao whoops Nevermind, I cant manage to recreate this kind of style anymore, heh... You're welcome ! I thought I wasn't really clear... I've tried krita once and I don't think you need to change for another drawing program But I myself use Paint Tool SAI ^^ |

@Lolokizka : This is better, good job ! And about the signature you should maybe put it a bit on your drawing so it is less easy to erase it. :) @Cloudheartz : Hey I suggest you to look at the anatomy of a real mouse first and when you look at both you kinda find something like this the green area is where you can see the skin (beige) and well idk how to help you any more so there is a bunch of pictures Now all you need to do is to draw them in your style :) idk if i helped.. |

Here we go yall I searched up a reference on google. Did you happen to use this one, too? (If so, nice! It's a good way to show how references can be used) Outlined some parts of it that I have applied to your drawing Now, this is the redline I did for your piece:

lojids a dit : I think it's adorable! One thing I would take note of is that the edges are cut off. Make your canvas bigger so that the white edges continue Some parts of the lineart are colored in while some arent. Try to make this consistent. Either a consistent black, or a consistent colored lineart. You can also do black on the outside edges only too. There are many options, but what you have right now looks awkward. Also, if you are going to color your lineart, maybe darken it more so it has more clarity and doesn't just blend in with the rest. On the note of shading. You kind of went for a pillow shading kind of thing. Visualize a light source and think about where light would and would not hit. Look at other examples because it's hard and lengthy to explain. Don't shade with black. Shade with the opposite color of your light source. LIght sources are rarely pure white unless it's indoors. Blue or purple are usually go to colors because they can make everything pop :) |

Mass Critique Time lojids a dit : - I can tell that you have used Paint tool SAI, and I can give some tips about it! * Most of the examples are mouse drawn, not with a tablet. In your Linework layer, you can actually edit and add points you place by holding control and move them. You can also drag to select a bunch of them and move and right click to remove the selected points. Another lovely thing about linework tool is that you can use the pressure tool to give your lines weight. 2ndly, don't just blur everything just because you can, in art theory, these creates muddy values and make the object unreadable. And lastly, just to make an art theory simple, don't make shadows grey. Adding color to your shadows can make your work much more interesting. The most you would see is blue shadows outsides. In terms of anatomy and other things advance theories, I would not go through because I understand you draw for a hobby, not something oyu want to go seriously to be a great concept artist, those are for you to explore and learn yourself~! Won't force it to you. windmillz a dit : digitalpanda a dit : Ah... pencil sketching~ It is a great way of releasing stress and have fun, but since this is a critic thread, I will have to go into the technical stuff. The base of all good paintings starts with a sketch of basic shapes and forms. over time, with enough practice, old masters don't have to do them because they know their own fundamentals. Simple shapes like circles and rectangles can help build up the shape of what you draw, even without details, I am sure you will know what this sketch is about! As I know fundamentals are something you would not pick up yet, I will just do a small doodle of your works. Style does not matter, it is about the shapes. What I realise when i saw both of your works is that you have very sketchy lines as you are not confident on where to put the lines. Both are just drawing the surface of the object, and without any simplifying, it can be imitating Draw what you like to draw~ Hope this can aid you in some small little ways birdluv a dit : Redline Cute art btw! A tip I have is to flip your canvas to check on mistakes like the ear. doticanny a dit : Surprisingly only the eye lid moves, not the skin below your eyes, Also we blink faster than we open them up, so cutting down more frames on the blink is more natural. I did the animation too fast actually but you can get the point a little, i used this reference here as well: |
