Things I didnt write on there: -Facial features are way too small & low -I couldn't tell if it was a rabbit or mouse until I saw the tail. Watch out for ear shape. |

Lolokizka a dit : hmmm, I do have some advise but I am just assuming that you do have some general knowledge of fundamentals. If you are interested to brush them up, you can check out some of the people I recommend later! Here is my take at going through my step process (Sorry if the person i drew is not how he looks like, not sure who is he) I tried From the beginning, even if I have a reference of him, I start with my base fundamentals, and slowly construct on the way. You have a lack of understanding your lighting and anatomy, which i think can be improved (if you want to) by studying on them. I am not the strongest in helping you, but my recommendations is to check out those below since I do check them form time to time to brush up my skills. So here are some of the people I recommend that can help you get your portraits better, especially if you are drawing someone IRL feredir. feredir has created some tutorials that are much more feastible to understand and apply in your works, to get human face shape right with more helpful tips. She has also mentioned an artist which helped her, and that would be Proko Proko touches on very deep fundamentals on human anatomy, and unless if you are 100% serious into getting them right, following Proko would be more effective than feredir. In terms of coloring, Kienan Lafferty can help you. As an ex-RIOT concept artist, he has definitely some great tips and knowledge of coloring human skin. I think he can help you out! |

Basgetti a dit : hopefully this isn't too nitpicky i believe that several people have said it before, but you could use colors to shade instead of black see here like the tutorial says, it makes the picture "pop" in the comments, it states that if you have to shade white, use blue although not necessary (i shaded the white ball with red), it's better if you shade it with lighter hues (pink, yellow, etc.) |

frostheartxx a dit : *slides in 5 days later* Alright. First off, this is adorable. Secondly, I'll be talking more about color and lighting rather than anatomy here haha Let's start with a quick paintover! I'm assuming your light source is that bubble. If that wasn't what you were going for...then oops ;u; What's different? Contrast. Your light source is very defined and in front of you. In order to make that obvious, you should make the shadows darker and the light source brighter. The brighter the light, the darker the shadows. I simply took a soft brush and used a multiply layer and colored a dark blue over the parts where I wanted the shadows to fall. Think about it a little and it'll come naturally. The arm is blocking the legs, so the legs would be in a shadow. The arm reaching for the bubble is over the tail, so there would be a cast shadow. Another thing I noticed in your piece was that there was a hard lighter outline on everything. Maybe you were going for rim lights, maybe not. Either way, remember that light isn't only just rim lights. It spreads throughout the drawing just like shadows do. Sometimes your lighter outline makes things muddy and less clear than it could have been. Instead of adding the outlines to define the shapes, use shadows! Take time to render them and it will look a lot cleaner and more defined : ) I lied about the anatomy part since I actually just fixed the paw. Felines don't usually turn their paws completely sideways to swat at something! Look at pictures and you'll see that they tend to only go up and down hehe. Didn't fully fix it, but you get the idea lol. As for anatomy, I would definitely say the same thing many people have said before. Use reference pictures! It's not "cheating" or "bad" to use references. Look up snow leopard cubs and note where the joints fall and how large parts of the body are in comparison to others. It'll make life a lot easier ^^ Despite everything, this is still a really solid piece ^^ Have fun with your future drawings :) Dernière modification le 1476252960000 |
