This is so weird.

There are language filters in place to stop people from other communities from (accidentally) flooding out all JP players from their own community. It has been changed several times and worked by IP as well as by OS language, so it's possible that players with a different configuration are able to speak.

Will VoteCrew work in games?
I know that VoteCrew works in forums as they have their own private forum.

They obviously have to test the maps ingame to form their review on them, but that's all they have to do ingame.

from what i know, moderators are not sentinels, so they can't lock threads unless they're sentinels at the same time

sentinels: moderate the forums, lock + merge threads and moderate/delete rulebreaking posts (they have no powers in game)
moderators: moderate in-game, and ban/mute players who break the rules

The English you're likely seeing is romaji.

Correct. Mods lost the ability to moderate the forums in 2011.

are you seeing this on the English server or Japanese ? there are hardly ever any people on the Japanese server so I highly doubt you saw someone using romaji as hardly any Japanese use it. that doesn't include weeaboos and it's not a smiley face..

Actually in all fairness, there's a handful of JP players who also speak English who speak in romaji on JP. Not all of them, but it's not like it's completely unseen.
