Lol, blue fire is hotter than red fire :P Just like with stars. Reddish stars are cooler than blue-white stars.

What if the htreads were judged to have greater than a certain rate of posts over time?
Say 10 posts/24 hours = Hot.
20/24 = Very Hot.
This would then stop old threadsfrom being hot. And give the opportunity to new threads to become hot.

I think this would be a more appropriate system for judging whether or not threads are popular.
