Sentinels will never have a hard delete again, and you can thank Redditguy for that.

This is not really a „hard delete”, because sentinels will be still able to see deleted posts, just that they won't show up to the other users.
So it's not like the message disappears forever with no single trace upon deletion.

Oh I misread what you said, sorry.
Yeah, I agree on that. It's annoying to see the moderation messages.

I agree. It is annoying to see moderated messages, especially if there is a lot of them

I support this

I don't think people should be banned for double posting but spamming yes

and also you should expect the second post of the same thing usually to be lag for a forum error

here's a quick test I'm going to do if you see a second post go ahead and remove it sometimes forms have a leg but by poor scripting of the form itself where you might accidentally double tap the button

Yes like for example, when you hit sub, it seems like you didn't post the message so that is when the double post happens.

See today I accidenty did it double post. If I had delete, I would do deleted it.

so how will you find the deleted posts any easier?

It's not about „finding” them, why would I need to find an accidental double post which was deleted?

Not just accidental double posts. Part of my initial reasoning was that one could spam a bit, be rude a bit, be inappropriate a bit, and then delete the posts.
You replied saying that the edit option is just as capable for getting rid of those things, while deleted posts would still be visible to sentinels.
And while I now understand that that's 100% true, there's an issue. You say you find some posts that request to be deleted months after they were requested, since no one reported it to be moderated. What happens when one deletes their post? No one will be able to see and report the post if it were deleted, and mods might not ever see it, or may not see it for a long time. So, this just goes back to my original idea.
Spam, be rude, be inappropriate, and then delete the posts. If no one reports them, a mod not see them for a while, and the person who deleted to bad posts gets away clean.
If you couldn't delete, others may see the spam, rudeness, etc. and report it on their own.
And even disregarding all that, how long have these forums been going without the ability to delete posts? I think it's safe to say it's been a while, and we're still all fine.

You have never had the ability to delete your own posts with any A801-associated forum, dating back to the phpBB forums and even the original Flash forums tied in with the game when it was still French. It's clearly a thing Tig doesn't want.

At least it's deleted and not edited out. If you think about it better, it's pretty much the same thing because if they edit their posts as you say and nobody noticed, they cannot report that post anymore anyway.
But for instance, if someone reported another user for insults and that person decides to delete their post later, the report (as well as the post itself) would still be there.
While this may be still an issue, I was also thinking about a feature that would allow sentinles (or maybe even you) to view someone's edit history.

As I said, I'm quite indifferent about this feature, but I believe that at least sentinels should be able to use it.
The feature itself exists, but only admins have access to it.
