Ball "glitch" abuse is trivial considering it's a game which now incorporates skills such as bubbles. |

Bigzzz a dit : I know, I was stating that while people are getting banned/kick for using 1 consumable to their advantage, theres others that can be used a similar way. So if using balls is bannable, snowballs and puffers would have to be aswell. Of course they aren't as convenient as balls, but they have shown to accomplish the same thing. It's not like balls are the only thing to propel you into the air, a mod goes and kicks someone for using balls as an advantage, and then right after, someone else uses a snowball/puffer. Then what? It's something that needs to be fixed by admins even though I doubt that's gonna happen. I can't understand why someone would get kicked/banned for that other than the fact that a mod just wanted to kick/ban them. |

zmelia a dit : I honestly agree as ball jumpinghas been going on for a long time, might as well get rid of it even though it is a hobby of mine. |

Guidelines and Rules a dit : Quoted from "others". Consumable-jumping has been going on for a while, but hacking has too. Does that make the latter okay? I doubt many people will get kicked for something like this even if moderation decides too; As other things will take priority. The admins are responsible for fixing it and moderation (if they choose too) will be able to stop it in the mean time. Regardless if it never gets fixed, that doesn't mean players should be doing it. |

The two can't even be compared, when considering hacking is actually using exploits in TFM's code to your advantage and use of third party programs, and consumable jumping involves a bit of skill and a bit of luck. It'd perhaps be more comparable to corner jumping. Mods have way bigger fish to fry and it's harder to ban for when considering they need to be in the room to deal with it. It's unfair, but lots of stuff in life isn't fair. That's life. |

I believe they can, both give an unfair advantage whether it be a big one or a small one. Corner jumping isn't comparable to this if you want to go down that route because a corner is there for everyone and can be used by everyone. It's not something that only effects one player and that player only. I don't see any skill in this; sorry. And as I said. Shadowwinter a dit : It'll more than likely be one of those things that if they come across it they'll kick it, like the escape glitch when shamming. |

Escape glitch is also use of an exploit in TFM's code to your advantage though, and it's literally in it's name, escape glitch. The reason I said corner jumping is because of the fact not everyone can do it, and it involves a certain speed or a certain skill to be able to hit the corner just right; in a similar instance to hitting the consumable just right. Not everyone can do it -- I can't, nor can I even properly corner jump sometimes. If you want this bannable then you might as well have using spirit or a shaman spawning a ball under you be bannable too. |

Corner jumping is a skill, not a consumable. It's not something you have to get as an item to be able to do it, a consumable is not something everyone will have because it's something you get from an event map. Corner jumping is there for anyone who wants to learn it and doesn't require an item, just a place in the map that everyone can use. |

I'll give you that much, but positioning of said consumable and hitting it just right is also a skill. |

If we get banned for using beach balls then might as well remove them? |

it's not even bug abuse, it's more so using them to your advantage. if this becomes bannable I'm literally going to quit because it's pretty bullshit that some people can't learn a simple trick, same goes for walljumping |

Ball jumping is done by skill and by lag. They should be accepted and banned respectively. Throwing balls is not an unfair advantage and anyone can trade and use balls freely until they run out. Lagging oneself on the other hand, is something not readily doable for everyone and should be condemned for exploiting sync and lag issues. Considering the controversy of skill vs exploit I propose the following. Keep a simple fix and reduce the arc of the ball, all other consumables do not throw ten feet in the air like balls do. By throwing the balls flat on the ground, anyone is free to try and use the ball to their advantage without having someone lagging themselves and throwing a ball they can only use. wait?you get ban for ball jumping?what the heck |

I can easily ball jump with a solid 90 ping so it's definitely not lag, it takes skill and luck with your timing. |

Spartanninja a dit : Exactly as I said. I've done it with 60 ping perfectly. |

Is it just me or are people misunderstanding? It is not a glitch, it is not a bug, it is not abusing lag, nor these are the problems The problem is it is a limited consumable, meaning it gives an unfair advantage to people that don't have a consumable Anyways, if this will ever get looked at by the admins, I suggest one of these as a fix: 1. Make the items summon the invis ones, maybe with a different transparency if it looks that bad 2. Somehow make them to not reset airjump and not send mice flying? 3. Give everyone infinite amount of these colliding consumables (limited use per map), and all of these items will be replaced with a new consumable which gives the items a different appearance. |

It's still cheating no matter how you want to rationalize it. |

so they ban players who use consumables as an advantage to get first instead of actual hackers? i've been farming the event in vanilla rooms and let me tell you this: vanilla is literally the nest for hackers. Hackers just come and go easily and no one care to even report them. if you want to ban such players, then ban the ones that use consumables to troll players from getting firsts. |

the consumables are limited so if you use it you're potentially taking away other uses of the consumable which just means the more you have the more chances you can get to get ahead of everyone, the consumable was designed to have collision so really I don't see why mods would be banning for this, nor why this is glitch abuse. People are only using the consumables how they were implemented but with a different use in mind, that use being to get ahead. Once the consumable is used, everyone in the room can collide with it so it doesn't exactly give an unfair advantage imo. This is really insane. |
