Can you explain the logic of "If a portion of people hating it becomes the reason why tfm shouldn't have anime events, then it is discrimination."
Some people in this thread have mentioned they like anime, but still say no (such as myself).
You have to remember that not every person on Transformice goes on the English forums, or even go on the forums at all.

how about the fact of just making an "anime" event and not focusing on the 483984938 other facets of japanese culture is just rude lmao

As far as I'm concerned, wanting an anime event isn't rude or discriminating Japanese culture at all, anime itself is a very large thing that lots of people are interested in although they may not be interested in Japanese culture itself, the two things don't always have to co-exist.

I think an anime event could be interesting, but considering a big part of anime that is based around the art style I don't see it fitting in with Transformice's own art style very well, nor can I imagine it being "anime-like" without having to go into the grounds of specific copyrights.

Yeah, but i'm not referring to all the people who said no. A few comments such as yours, have mentioned that there are people in tfm community who hates anime for incomprehensible reason and from my personal experience, I have encountered people like that, not to label anyone but they were all americans, so I wonder if it's because people are not used to foreign stuff, the cultural difference thing I assume. So, it's a bit unfair if the reason of denial was because of this, the whole thing seemed to leaning towards case of discrimination when I put the pieces together.

Buddy.
Even in Japan, some people who are Japanese hate anime. It's not just foreign people.
But usually when people hate something, it's for a reason. Will you always agree with it? No, but you should still respect it.

Like I've said before:
Disliking/hating anime is not equal to discrimination. It's called having an opinion.

I care to disagree. In many series and even the Japanese language itself you have to know quite a bit about it's cultural aspects.

Let's say if there would be a game-wide anime event, I would certainly stay in my tribehouse for an entire week. A lot of people find anime appalling, it wouldn't be fair to force this upon them.

Yes, but for what reason specifically? Hate is a strong word, we are not talking about dislike but hatred, in this case, these anti-anime people are essentially equal to racism because they don't understand something, it's excusable to hate it? I don't get it, is it cultural difference or what? It's like saying you hate product that made in western world because it's from the western world. Kind of remind you of North Korea, don't it? It's closer to case of prejudice than a simple case of food dislike.

Also, I don't think Japanese people hate Anime, it's a part of their culture and majority of people are proud of it for obvious reasons. If anything, Otaku (a Japanese negative term for people with obsessive interests, commonly the anime and manga fandom), in short people who have unhealthy obsession with anime, commonly associated to being "Neet" or Hikikomori (shut-in), get more hate than Anime.

Like I said, I just assuming, since it's one of the issues that was mentioned in this thread here and "anime being japanese" is the only valid reason I could think of since I don't understand why people have strong dislike towards anime, it would be a different story when we are talking about people dislike of certain genre but that doesn't seem to be the case here. A better example would be, if you replace "anime" with "american tv show", and if people telling me they hate show from america because it encourages sexual behaviour, using stereotype as base of their excuse, then it's certainly wrong. We should not condone hate for the wrong reasons.
