The game is not for kids. Its pg-13 rating allows swearing.
Words are just words and kids are gonna learn them anyway. You've probably heard them in school already.

If you want some sort of change, I would recommend voicing your opinion here or on the various topics littered throughout the suggestions section of the forums. Otherwise, I recommend creating your own suggestion by doing the proper research etc.

That's relative no matter the age however? I don't get your response at all.

The discussion is about swearing when this is a supposed "kids" game. Obviously if you're being insulted and it's not moderatable (someone saying to "go fuck yourself," which is hardly enough for a mute) and you don't want to see it, you hit ignore. But OP wants a ban on swearing entirely.
But it's not a kid's game (and age thirteen and fourteen are not "kids"), it is a game rated as PG-13 and stated in ToS to be for users over thirteen, or under thirteen with parental permission. However, that implies that the parents are aware of what is happening -- which eight times out of ten, they're not; because parents refuse to be parents.
If they did give permission, they well should know that the chat's going to have some less than savory content.

this game is recommended 13+. of course people would swear.

cursing is not against the rules. so we can swear whenever we want. if someone doesn't like it they should just turn on language filter.

and don't complain about little kids seeing the curses. even if this game was strictly 13+ little kids would still get on the game. it's so easy to say you're 13 on the internet nowadays. it's unavoidable. if they have a problem with it, either they turn on language filter, or leave tfm.

This is highly dependent on which definition you'd like to use. Anyone under the age of majority can be considered a child.

Could they at least FIX the language filter?? Capitalization can get past it??????? Like you can't tell someone "just use the language filter!" when it doesn't even do its job correctly.

The internet itself is filled with profanity, we can't do anything about it. I'm pretty sure that kids who play tfm have already seen curse words even before playing this game.
