It's not an advantage, however it's rather considered a disadvantage to other players because the rainbow trail might block the vision of other mice, and it may cause accidental slips during walljumping or corner jumping...

Is there a suggestion like this already?: be able to set a one-time short message to anybody who tries to whisper you, without disabling your whispers? So like if you did (whisper message->) "/wmsg hi may not answer right away, multitasking ^_^", whoever tried to message you would first get that message, but only once?
