| Two fresh drawings from today!!   Both are characters from Travel For Merit! My current plan is to start releasing the story this summer :-) Also, both drawings use a reference I made for myself-- a 3D model of my mouse! They're still in progress (no fur or even arms yet lol) but they've proven to be really handy for drawing tricky angles! Here's a screenshot of what they look like in Maya :P  I'll post more in-progress pics of 3D Pyru as I work on them. Thank you guys for all the support and praise!! I usually try to respond in each of my posts but I forgot the last two times :'( Just know that I read every one and it makes me happy that you guys enjoy my stuff!! Especially about my use of texture-- that's something I'm proud of, so it feels nice to be recognized o/ Stay tuned for more stuff! I want to make more of these quick lil character portraits, and I'm thinking of holding a raffle soon so that a few lucky mice will get free art ;P |

 Here's my entry for the Daydream art contest! I won one of the participation prizes :P I ended up not being able to spend as much time on it as I would've liked because I procrastinated for waaaay too long and actually drew the whole thing on the day of the contest deadline. (Protip: don't do that.) As a result, I didn't get to include all of the Travel For Merit stuff that I wanted to. At the very least, I guess I learned exactly how long it takes me to make a piece of this quality! (The answer is 6 hours) Here's a long-ish explanation of the piece tucked into a spoiler: Both of the mice are characters in Travel For Merit, but also double as my Transformice outfits. I wear Pyrubble most often, as you all know. ^^ Have you noticed that their designs are "opposites"? Pyrubble wears a bandanna on their neck and a flower on their head, whereas Charlotte wears a bandanna on their head and flowers on their neck. Pyru is light grey, Charlotte is dark grey. If you're not familiar with what Travel For Merit is, check out the "About" tab in my original post before continuing! As TrFM characters, these two mice are Pyrubble, the god of creation, and Charlotte, the god of destruction. It's not exactly a good vs. evil dynamic-- if anything, Pyrubble is the bigger hassle of the two because they're constantly creating new things that may or may not be good for the world! So Charlotte acts as Pyrubble's "editor", organizing their ideas and destroying the ones that should never see the light of day. These two were intended to appear very late in TrFM's story, along with other deities like Elise. In this piece, Pyrubble's creations are represented as thousands of sheets of paper, which Charlotte is trying to collect for their screening process. I had a lot of fun drawing all the papers and dictating a sort of "flow" to the way that they fly around. I also wanted the piece to be sort of symmetrical, so you can actually flip the piece upside down to see Charlotte's side. I had a lot of trouble getting the lighting/color scheme to work out, but in the end I'm happy with it. I especially like the background around Pyrubble, as it looks like a glittering galaxy. The piece also sort of accidentally ended up as a metaphor for something in my personal life. I was recently diagnosed with ADD (the inattentive type of ADHD, Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder). My brain is constantly spewing out thoughts and ideas, and it often feels like trying to hear multiple channels of TV at the same time. You can probably see how Pyrubble and Charlotte's relationship mirrors this! My ADD also manifests in my tendency to procrastinate and my ability to hyperfocus on an engaging task for hours at a time. You could say I work well under pressure. ^^' Regarding my lack of recent work: I've accepted the fact that I may never start Travel For Merit, and that I won't be making mouse-related art as often anymore. I hope I can continue to update this thread every now and then anyway. <3 I would still like to stream sometime... whenever I get around to it... And I'm going to continue sharing details of Travel For Merit's story in place of a finished product. (Maybe sometime I'll write up a Google Doc with all the characters and locations and stuff.
