About me Hi there! I'm Pyrubble, but you can call me Pyru for short. I've been on Transformice since 2012, and while I don't play actively anymore, I still love drawing mice! I'm 19 years old and I use they/them pronouns. I am currently attending my local community college to pursue a degree in professional game development, which I'm super excited about! In the future I hope to tell stories about interpersonal relationships in natural fantasy settings using games as my medium. Art I use Adobe Photoshop CC and a Wacom Cintiq 13HD. Paintings can take anywhere from 1 to 7 hours, depending on the detail of the piece. My process is a mess that usually consists of a sketch, laying down base colors, setting up 15 layers of overlay blending mode, painting on top of all of that, and then slapping on a good handful of textures and color adjustment layers. Sometimes I take a different approach and start with a fully rendered black and white painting and then add color later. Pretty much all of the brushes I use are Kyle's brushes, which are freely available to Photoshop CC subscribers. Travel for Merit Travel for Merit is a Transformice-inspired story that I've been fleshing out for several years. It was originally intended to be a comic, then it was going to be long-form prose, then it was going to be an RPG game, then I toyed with the idea of a website with illustrated prose, and now... who knows! Sadly, I don't think that I'll ever be able to bring it to fruition in a way that I'd like. But I will continue to draw and share tidbits related to TrFM here in this thread, and I can only hope that it's still fun to follow! A bit about the story: The main character, a nosy mouse named Zhine, sets out on an adventure to follow her curious heart and write about it all in her trusty journal. She's always on the hunt for the next interesting tale, and as a result, she has a habit of getting wrapped up in a lot of trouble. Zhine has a great knack for making friends though, and those friends end up being dragged along on her journey too! The biggest over-arching plotline has to do with the imperial nation of Belfort, which has recently been attacking and stealing from trade ships going to and from the neighboring country of Illustria. The seaside nation of Marnav, Illustria's biggest trading partner, has been suffering as a result. The arc follows each country's efforts to survive in the conflict that seems like it might heat up to a full-blown war. Have a look at this post for maps of the TrFM world. I have plans to make some sort of masterpost or Google Doc with lots of images of characters and details of the story. Stay tuned! Social media On other sites, I go by Tacitgrey.
